Hey everyone!

Suggest on which race to take and which stats to put points into as a starting Minstrel?

What would be the best spec for lvling?

Thank you.

Highlander if you want to train Slash.

Some minstrels Autotrain Instruments, but this may make it hard for you to get a group while leveling, so its up to you.

If you want to train Thrust, pick a saracen.

Well, liketobold already told, pick the class you want (for endspec).
For solo leveling I would choose Thrust (good evade and block styles)
For grp leveling choose Slash (good positional styles)

And do AT (!), its realy worth it. It's just a short time you level, but a big time you are 50 ^^

How to spec:

Well, stealth is realy useless for lvling, so full in weapon.
with lvl 24 (full AT) you gain your first charm spell. with this you can charm filidhs
(can be found in salibury plains, south-east from west down, at the stone circle) with nice heal, even at higher level.

What would you recommend as final template with AT
50 inst/33 stealth/30 slash?

I've a question for you pro minstrels! :)
When autotrain at max stops?
Ie: at lvl 40 i reached the max autotrain so i can start speccing in instruments, etc.
Or i have to go to lvl 50 without touching instruments?
Thanks in advance! :)

Going 32 stealth, 39 weapons, 44 instru doesnt worth?

When you get in melee range, you are fodder anyways vs. most classes. And vs. the other classes you don't need high weapon skill.
On nightshade, I dropped minstrels more than once when I was down at 10-15% and they had full health in melee. Kite or die, and for that you need high DD damage and instant spells that don't get resisted too much.
“DAOC is not about what you can log. It's about what you can play :> ”

Uthgard 1.0: <Die Lettanten> Ivia - 8L8 Nightshade - Lone Enforcer since 8L1.
Uthgard 2.0: <Illuminated Stormriders> Oxy - Hero; Ivia - Nightshade.

if you put ANY points to autotrained skill, AT will be ended, and cannot be renewed.

AT till lvl 40 can provide:
30 weapon, 32 stealth, 50 instru.

Does it worth to AT till lvl 48 to have only 1 more point in stealth???
I think we can handle an AT till 40, but after 40, it's so boring to get xp...

If you
1. AT Intsrument till lvl 40
2. At lvl 40, respec line to train Instru at desired lvl
3. At lvl 43.5, respec Instrument lin to remove all points
Do u gain AT again when you up to lvl 44 ?
