I keep trying to convince myself to continue leveling my Armsman. However, I feel like it's a waste of time when we have Reavers. Thoughts?

Let me hear your Pro's and Con's of each class vs. the other if your bored :)

PS: Can't wait for someone to flame that they both suck!! :D
If you become irate, angry, wrathful, furious, ireful, wroth or indignent by anything that I say to you or just in general; you should always remember, it's only because I care that I pay attention in the first place.

armsman pros:
stoicism
plate armor
snare side style in polearms

+-polearms (nice dmg,but little lower than livelike? not prooved)
+- polearms behind stun/snare chain

armsman cons
is not much loved by players
as block/slam bot can be replaced by another 3 clases (pala, reaver, merc)
RR5 ability

reaver pros:
levi!!
levi!!
levi!!
target dead
good for solo (one of classes minority who can face and kill stealthers (rangers) easily)

reaver cons:
missing stoicism
snare style is second in chain (indigo-->constrictor)

the pole-snare is anytime ;)...the only reason arms can solo-kill shamans, once they reached them (not taking into account ichor or moc-root)

plus: if an arms is played really good, he can solo reavers in melee if RR and stuff are about the same...killed some rr6+ reavers with my rr4 arms...after-enemy-styled-style is nice but needs timing and stuff...same for short-stuns to get pole hit through defense :)

You really need to think about what role the Armsman would be filling in a group (if that is what you want to do at 50).

- a reaver will outdamage an armsman
- if you have a reaver in the back, you have guard and wtf-dmg

- in the front, mercs have charge and dirty tricks, which gives them higher survivability and mobility

Not saying you can't play an armsman, but you need a group that uses that class properly. Black Adders hat an armsmen for a good while, but later switched to a merc, because that is just a little more versatile and under the current patch settings and with Uthgards' meta, a little stronger. At the end of the day, you will have an easier time with either merc of reaver imho.

Snapshot is great. I can't tell you how many times Shinano has used it to kill a speed class trying to get away with the unintruptable speed.
