Hi,

I am planing on making an autotrained Highlander paladin with the initial stats of 10 con/str/dex. I have been told that Highlander paladins can reach cap block (like saracens) by training to mob 3. Is this true? I am tired of seeing mostly Saracen paladins and would like to know if my choice is possible and perhaps a good one.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

make which toon you like the most as far as looks go. You'll reach 'cap' just fine with MoB

saracen or not, its impossible to reach the cap at early realm ranks. the formula is;

block rate = 5 + (((dex * 2) - 100) / 40) + (shield spec / 2) + mob (not the rank, the rate comes from mob)

so at RR4 and having 42 shield spec, you need 430 dex and mob5 (can't have it before 4L4) to reach the cap which is 75%. just get mob3 like everyone and you will be fine

So approx at what lvl will a highlander with mob3 reach block cap? Thanks for the insight..

all i wanted to say was dex from your race is not realy important, 430 dex for a paladin is just a dream. the point is you cant reach the cap with mob3 but you dont need 75% block rate anyway. so dont worry about it.

if you still wanna cap it and wonder when will you be able to do that; you get extra +11 from your template and +1 for every rank after rr1. so you will have 11+3 at rr4, 11+7 at rr8 etc. if you can reach 329 dex with your pally (not sure if its possible even with the best dex and d/q buff in the game + aug dex5) :

you need mob5 and 46 shield spec at rr10 (with +20 from your temp and rr). need 47 at rr9, 48 at rr8 and goes like this.
