Hello Mates,
i want to help a guild mate leveling his Cleric and so i'll make me a Merc. We want to play duo all the time.

Maybe i will play the Merc later on in RvR. And my questions are:

I prefer to play a Saracen (10dex/10qui/10str) and want to know how good the damage output would be with level 50.
planned spec: 50DW/42shield/36thrust/20 parry or 50 DW/50thrust 31 parry (both with 77 points from AT)

Till 48, i go AT and use crush for low endu cost and after taunt stun style. Saracen and Crush works fine with cleric buffs ?
or should i better make a Highlander or Halfoger (i dont like Halfoger with the ugly Batman run animation :-( )
how much is the damage different between Sara/thrust and Highlander slash or Halfoger/crush ?

thx

Imo Highlander is best choice for a Merc, you ve 5% extra cold resis which is pretty huge in RvR at the end.
In PvE it doesnt matter at all which race u pick.

For the stats HalfOgre, for Overview Briton or Highlander.

Choice of Weapon Thrust, Regardless of Race.

I agree with Akip - Go Crush and AT Slash. Crush is great end use is minimal and you do some good dmg (I also think that Mid and Hib both prefer to put resists into slash/thrust and less crush, right?)

anyways, Highlander or Half-Ogre is the way to go
Blade with Whom I have Lived, Blade with Whom I now Die, Serve Light and Justice One Last Time, Seek One Last Heart of Evil, Still One Last Life of Pain, Cut Well Old Friend, Then Farawell.

Why would anyone not make a fullcap temp with the basic things such as crush? ^^

Damage difference at end game with full cap temp etc - is absolutely minimal between any race using the same spec.
If you become irate, angry, wrathful, furious, ireful, wroth or indignent by anything that I say to you or just in general; you should always remember, it's only because I care that I pay attention in the first place.

At endgame your race wont matter. I would suggest going saracen. I walk around as a saracen with my shortbow out and draw stealhers out ALL THE TIME thinking I am a scout.

Well played sir, well played. That is actually pretty damn funny.

I have a Saracen.
But only I like the style :D

HO will pump out the best and most dmg (it's simply not true that Race doesn't matter.. You will notice a difference between HO Slash/Crush and Saracene THrust)
Highlander has a bit more Qui (faster slam!) and dex (better def).

In 8vsX RvR it doesn't really matter. HO and Saracen do the same dmg when Thrust specced. But HO has more con and much more dmg on Slash/Crush.

As usual: Play the race you like the most.

The most common specs are:

50 DW
50 Weapon
Rest Parry

50 DW
36/39 Weapon
42 Shield
Rest Parry (more Parry with less Weapon)

50 DW
39 on 2 Weapon (Thrust/Slash mostly)
Rest Parry

There is a more exotic spec:

44 DW
42 Shield
34 on 2 Weaponspecs

For a bit higher RR (but you can play it with rr4 also since you are using DW Styles only)
In grp you often won't use the 50 Style, since the bleed is CC-breaker #1.
You have slam and Splitspec for higher dmg on opponents.

RAs: Det, Charge
