Reaver Realm Skills question

Hi, I'm still pretty new to Uthgard and I'm about level 43 and rr3. I'm trying to gather general realm skills that will help me level, and help me in thid, without screwing me in either. I expect I will respec at 50, so I'm not strictly avoiding that:
1) My thoughts are that Purge 3 would be better than Det5 as a Reaver. If that's not the case, please state your opinion as to why. I wouldn't spec that high in either until I had some decent RR. 2) At (3L0) I have: MoBlock 2 MoPain 2 Purge 1 LW 1 Serenity 1 (meh) and 5 unspent points. I'm looking for suggestions on what I should spend points on as I gather more through Thid. I expect I'll group most of the time. TWF? MoFocus? IP? I'm open to hearing your suggestions! Thanks, Sykan |

Group RvR Reaver with 50
![]() Solo Reaver Thid/50er ![]() ![]() I have a dream

you don't neccesarily need ip2 for thid though mob2-3 is much more important imo
healpots are usually enough to decide the closer fights there ![]() |

Not really the amount of information I was hoping for.
With Det 5, full resists, yellow cleric resist how long does a Reaver stay in a 60 sec mez/root? Over 10 seconds and I think I'd rather purge, but it's been a while and I haven't done 50 rvr here yet. |
|
On my reaver i went for det4,purge1,LW1,MoB2 for Thid (RR4L0)
When hit RR5, i will respec to det5,MoB2,LW1. But what abilities take after? |

If you want to solo spec MoParry instead of MoBlock as it's more effective.
![]() But as you want to focus on grouping, I'd recommend the followring RA's first: det5 aug qui 2-3 purge1 lw 1-2 |
|
Not to high jack the thread, but why is Moparry more effective then MoBlock since you will most likely spec higher in shield(42 in most cases) then parry? Just curious |
|
While soloing most of your enemies will be DW/LA/CD classes. Using two weapons decreases your block/evade chance 50%. Parry has the same penalty against 2handed weapons and you dont have so many enemies using them. Btw it doesnt matter if you spec higher on shield, mob/mop gives you a specific amount of dmg avoidance. Mob3 adds 10% more block chance even if you have 1 shield spec. |

At 6L4 I have:
Det5 Purge1 Aug Quick3 LW2 MoB1 With 10 Dex 15 Quick starting stats, Cleric buffs, and Theurgist Haste with 3.0 speed whip you hit cap swing speed. ![]() [3:10pm] <myrmidon^> You have to be a c*** to be awesome at daoc
[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> that's what I learnt [3:11pm] <Frosty_> then why does austerim suck

So your saying your parrying goes down when your fighting someone with a 2hander? Also, if you mostly come accross dual weilding enemies and their block/evade is reduced (and not parry) why wouldnt MoB be more effective then? |
|
Yes, fighting a 2hander will reduce your chance to parry similarly as fighting a duel wielder will reduce your chance to block (unless Uthgard is different, but I doubt it). The question is why would you want to beef up a stat (blocking) that is being reduced in the majority of your fights (those with duel weapons)? If your typically going up against one type of enemy it'd make sense to increase the defense that is better against them (which would be parry). I'm even considering specializing so that I'll have higher parry at fifty because I've see a lot of players running around with duel weapons (I'm a Paladin). |
|
Yes it does (against warrior, thane, hunter etc). Why wouldn't mob be more effective? Mob3 gives 10% block (5% against dual wielders), mop3 gives 10% parry (still 10% against dual wielders). So you can have more dmg avoidance chance against most of your enemies at the same skill point cost. I'm not saying mob is useless for solo btw, I would still go for mob3 for higher rrs but have mop more than 3. |
|
That's exactely the reason for it

solo reaver is better more parry than block , you'll fight more stealthers ( ranger ns sb ) parry better vs dual wielder
