hi,
i am leveling a full atutotrain ministrel. currently the toon is 41, so it will take some time until AT is finished with L48. i am unsure, which spec is more useful for soloing in thidranki and would be pleased for some suggestions. calculations should target 49.5 & RR3, since this is the longest time for that spec. examples 40 instruments / 37 weapon / 37 stealth - no speed 5 - only blue+yellow DD - only yellow AE mezz + high weapon, with RR3 = 49 + high stealth, with RR3 = 49 43 instruments / 37 weapon / 33 stealth - only yellow AE mezz - lower stealth, with RR3 = 45 + yellow+red DD + high weapon, with RR3 = 49 43 instruments / 33 weapon / 37 stealth - only yellow AE mezz + smaller weaponskill, with RR3 = 45 + yellow+red DD + high stealth, with RR3 = 49 45 instruments / 35 weapon / 33 stealth + yellow+red DD + red AE mezz + medium weaponskill, with RR3 = 47 - lower stealth, with RR3 = 45 |

You can skip the AE mezz in your list as you will rarely (or never) use em anyway. I would suggest to think about your final spec and work towards it.
If you're slash I'd suggest the following final spec: 50 Instruments 29 Slash 3x Stealth |

Considering full AT, I recommend one of 3 specs (depending on the weapon line you prefer):
50 Instruments 29 Slash (for the amethyst slash, anytimer with very high to-hit bonus) 33 Stealth (meaning you can reach composite 50 at RR7) 50 Instruments 37 Slash (slightly more WS than the first spec, no really useful styles however - only a follow-up to your after-block style, which, since you cannot spec shield, won't happen often anyway) OR 37 Thrust (3-hit after-evade chain with both to-hit and defensive bonuses in addition to a 9-pt bleed) 25 Stealth (just enough to climb) 50 Instruments 44 Thrust (follow-up snare style to the detaunt) OR 44 Slash (follow-up 7-pt bleeding style to the taunt) This leaves you with 37 rest points that are rather useless (e.g. 8 stealth spec). I recommend slash for all but the last spec because of the very high to-hit bonus on your anytimer (amethyst slash) and, with some practice, the perfect ease of using the snare side style (side slicer) to save your backside. However, the thrust snare at 44 lasts longer and is more easily executed without strafing. Scaling these down to Thidranki levels, just make sure you have the instrument at your level, your weapon spec as high as possible (regarding styles) and, if you DO spec stealth, you'll want to be able to climb. Remember: You are not a skald. Your instruments are your weapons, so you'll want to have them as high as possible (and I personally use MoF on my minstrel to raise the effective spell levels - there's nothing worse than an emergency instant stun that gets resisted). |

thanks for advice, but i need working specs for
THIDRANKI / L49.5 for the time from RR3 to RR4. specs with 50 instruments are quite useless for that. i am not afraid to buy a respec at RR4 / RR5 etc. |

Would still suggest you to go:
49 Instruments 29 Slash 33 Stealth then. You could drop Instruments down to 44 (44 dd shout, there's nothing usefull afterwards besides the lvl50 shout/abla) to get some more points into Weapon or Stealth, but overall it won't do much and isn't worth respeccing later. But thats my opinion ![]() |

I agree to the posted spec, but do not drop instruments to 44. A mincer's most fearsome weapon in Thidranki is a charmed clicking beetle (orange to L49) that does significantly more melee damage than you will do yourself. However, if your instrument spec isn't great, you will have issues holding any pets higher than yourself reliably. It's also an excellent chance to catch up on your twisting expertise if you haven't already done so - speed/pet for running around, flute/pet when you're fighting more than one person and ablative/pet when you decide to go melee (the pet resisting your charm pulses will make sure you have a hard time keeping it on your target). |

Ah well, forgot about the pet thingy, cuz I'm too lazy to use them

how much instruments are needed for the beetle? even if i would have "only" 44 instruments + 10 (armor) + 2 (rr3) = 56 is that enough to hold a beetle pet safe ? |

if you are not afraid to buy a respec stone later, full inst + 44 weapon is the way to go. I found stealth useless for solo thid, you can always keep away from visi groups and even with high stealth other stealthers can see you since you dont have mos. Also you are not realy effective without a pet and you can't keep them while stealthed.
Charm a clicking beetle and twist charm/speed, engage and kite like hell when you find a solo. It's the fastest and safest way to cap thid. With high weapon you can even engage in melee against some enemies. I didnt kite skalds for exemple, 44 thrust saracen minstrel can over dmg them if you twist ablative and charm ![]() |

You're pretty effective without a pet as well, as long as you kite them all day long

If you run stealthed with no pet other stealthers will give you some trouble. Every assasins use snare poison for minstrel and you can rarely see them before PA or BS. Hard to kite an archer without charm also, all you can do is get to the max range, dd, keep running and waiting for combat-off for speed song. When you left combat they will leave too and will be stealthed again most of the time. Hunter pets keep you in combat also. You can't spirint more than them while using your dds if you dont have high lw. In addition to these, kite without charm takes much longer and you will have an add if it takes long most of the time in thid.

Should be with no twist, but even with full inst I remember losing them while twisting speed/charm. |
