What are some effective methods of building up a cash flow for a new player? Been here ~ a week now, and at lvl 14 (pally) I find myself with barely 3g, selling everything, and most of my armor has turned to grey/ light green. I am being hit way to hard to effectively do anything, but I am at a loss as to how to get a cashflow to upgrade everything. Any advice is appreciated!

Picking a paladin will be good when end game raids come into play, however, for a first char it will be kinda difficult because your heavily reliant on gear. A quick fix would be to join a guild who may have crafters you could use or farm emerald seals from greens until you get first set of DF gear.

Another option good for people starting on this server is starting a caster, preferably a cabalist. They really jsut need a good focus staff and any pick up gear they may get eventually as having gear up to date ( other then focus staff) isn't as important. Also, cabalists are great farmers. Once you start legion raids or get some gold finally I 'd also suggest starting a tailoring (salvage) account. But I would focus on getting a char near 50 first.

Good luck and welcome to this awesome server

You can try :
- up tailor craft with your 3 gold, and up secondary skill too. Thx to that, you will be able to salvage every loot. You gain more money by salvaging instead of direct sell to npc merchant (see trinketer's guide here)
- do task ! Go to Cornwall station and /whisp task to guard. They will give you a mob to kill and reward you with money and xp for that. If your level is too high, next guards to whisp are the ones at Avalaon marsh i guess. Not sure.
- search for mobs that give more loots, to salvage them or directly equip (usually, dungeon give nice amount of loots)
- ask on /trade if someone can give/craft you some low level stuff

And do not forget to visit your trainer in Camelot city to get your new free 100% quality hauberk.

A big thank you to everyone for the advice. I do believe I will start trying to get a feel for a guild that would be interested in having me. I haven't played heavily since the end of ToA some years ago. I am absolutely excited to be back in the swing of things.

@Shafirias - Thanks bud, I look forward to it!

I joined Uth in 2012 after a 9 year absence from DAOC. I wondered the same thing. Now I have plenty of plat. I'll give you some tips.

1)Don't roll a cabby to "farm" You cannot farm anything in Albion. The drop rates are crap.

B)Don't try and make a ton of money before 50. Just level up.

III)Darkness Falls is your friend. Diamond seals are the most consistent money maker.

d)Farm diamonds and sell them to get 2.5-3plat. Use that money to level tailoring to 1k and 1k metal.

Z)Then you can salvage DF swords and make a lot of money.
There will be a group of people out there who will want this realm to be entirely Mythic-like. Exactly like vanilla, drop rates/xp rates, basically everything and you will not be able to please them unless it is exactly like vanilla.

These people have their nostalgia goggles on so tight it's cutting off the bloodflow to their brain and they believe that vanilla was perfect and nothing was wrong with it.

Another tipps for free...

- Do cap BGs, at least Thidranki - in order to get needed RAs for RVR (if you ever plan to) and to get some friends.

- After getting enough money from Dia farm, try to get a template asap (cheap ones available with DF jewlry + 99% crafted), as paladin is very much looked for the profitable raids, but only when he is templated (like SH, Prince, Dragon, GK ....)
