Hey guys,

I recently started to level a wizard but I'm a bit lost on the spe, didn't really remember what was efficient ten years ago :D

So for now I'm fire to level, but some people tell me that this patch had been nerfed. Is that true ?

More generally which spe is better to PVE ? And which would be better at lvl 50 to RvR ?

Thanks for your tips!

Wizards are quite rare on Uthgard - afaik bolts are quite borked here (search for exact reasons, like deal too less damage, miss to often, get blocked... )...

Fire is the way to go in low levels and solo xp. At higher level maybe at level 40 (free respec) you can spec to ice to get nice xp groups in stone henge or in llynn barfog or df.

Fire would be the way to go for RVR again - or some weired earth spec - or ice if you want to crush zergs or defend keeps (bomb through wall).

Also for dragon raid, ice wizzes are looked for occasionally - but... well - wizzes are not the chosen ones :-) Neither for pve nor for rvr.

Common raid setups are made of pala + cleri + theu + reaver, for rvr its pala + cleri + merc + sorc + theu (+ minst/ cab/ reaver).

You havent chosen the easiest route... but you can make it!

Fire doesnt work well in rvr. The dmg output of the fire dd is too low though it has the highest delve of all spec nukes on alb.
Only way to compete with tri spec caby and split spec sorc as a wiz is to go for ice cause the cold debuff nuke does similar dmg as base ld after body debuff.
Even when u go for ice the wiz lacks too much utility and rarly gets invited to 8v8 grps but no other alb caster is that much fun in zerg fights.

Thanks for the answers, it's pretty clear.

I don't want to be useless at 50, nor play sorc/theu (didn't like), so I will certainly see if Midgard runemaster are more welcomed :D
