My theurg is level 24 and the perfect toon to solo xp in those "hey, I got 20 min time"- moments.

I follow the necro xp guide, which works pretty nice most of the time.

On charplanner ( http://nixianplay.com/index.php?page=ch ... =theurgist ) I read, that level 25 ice pet spell will be enough to get the highest ice pets. So I wonder, if it would be necessary to spec more than 25 in ice for xping.

If not - what to do with rest of the skillpoints? Earth? So I get a tank pet, and send tank pet to mob, then 1-2 ice pets? Or spec wind, so BGs will be more fun (aoe mezz)?

What are viable BG speccs withouth respeccing too much? And going the ice xp route (solo xping).

Another question... is it even viable to go solo to level 50 with ice theurg? When I got much more time to play, I will play my other two group chars anyway - so it doesnt matter, that I could xp faster with earth theurg from level 40 on.

If that matters, I got enough money to support theurg with mana pots and respeccs if necessary.

Thx,
Dirty

At level 41, with 18 ice, my ice pet do very nice damage (2 on a yellow is enough for mob weak against spirit damage).
20 in air is enough to have a air pet able to chain stun target in wilton. And the low level air spec DD can be spam for a ridiculous amount of mana (doing low damage but still cost efficient).
Other point in eath give me BT 10 sec.

I plan to do a 40/30/20 spec, upping ice spec once i get my 40 earth. With something like 40/25/20 in thid (lvl 48.5+), i think i will have all the necessary tools. Only an ae root missing. Should be ok.

Thanks, sounds like a plan!

Ice base line nuke will suffer, but if level 20 wind pet spell still viable in big rvr, this spec really sounds interesting.

Before I read that, I thought about going 40e/36i - so I'll be able to continue solo xp, occasional grp xp and also bgs.

go 40e/36a and use the air nuke.
OF and Uthgard have some strict settings for theurg pets.

ice pets are really bad.

you dont get the later level ones.
they fail to cast if the target runs out of range or line of sight.
they are easily interrupted and go into melee.

meanwhile, air pets are stronger than ever.

they 100% of the time cast at max range when summoned.
they have 5x the hp of earth pets.
their stun / resisted stun interrupts.
