To clear things a little more, letting you albioneers know what went wrong (since the guy is a guildie of mine):
- He doesn't know how to speak english well, he spent so much time talking to us in Teamspeak asking what the hell were the people telling him (even later, GM inquiries, i had to help him translate and tell him what he was being asked) - He lagged very badly at the moment of pickup. First attempt, nearly every mid wiped, many of us rushed to the main gate, he was probably behind main building and told us he just tried clicking and clicking on the relic. He wanted to feel the flavour of holding the relic in his hand, knowing he'd die just afterwards. - The lag wasn't caused by an exploit or a bug abuse. It was just lag, and the real bug was that the system didn't acknowledge that he died and released. - When he was in uppland, back to life, he didn't have the relic in his pockets. Relic seemed to be in uppland, but he didn't had it. Actually he took the wrong port too, going to emain, and for a little bit the relic was 'last seen in emain' too. Then he came back with the BG people in hadrian. Relic following. - We all moved to pennine and then to forest sauvage, relic sitll following. BG people thought it was a stealther grp who made it to grab and run, but it wasn't anyone of us in the bg who did that. - Suddenly the guy realized HE may have been the cause. So he just checked the relic status (and we all did) by moving back and forth from pennine boundary limit.. the relic moved the same. - To all of us realmmates, he looked normal NON GLOWING - NON FLAGGED relic carrier. - We asked him to check so many times if he had relic in his pockets. We told him to move items in each inventory spots, to have the relic pop up. Nothing worked. GM was already being called at that time, but no answer. - We then told him to try and move to Mjollnir Faste. What else could have been done without GM assistance? - He tried to reach Mjollnir, and finally when there, he moved above the relic spot plate. Nothing happened. He tried to drop EVERY ITEM he had in his pockets. Nothing. - Then he tried to log out. Maybe relic would appear. No success. Twice. - Eventually, relic was still bugged and invisible, and dropped off when he logged out the first time. - Later, when GM came and resetted the relic, he was still there with many other people at Mjollnir. Suddenly the relic appeared, and like everyone else would have done, he picked up and turned it in on the plate. That was the instant relic capture. - After that, the rest of the BG, who meanwhile got back to sauvage, opened ALL the doors, killed the LORD 3 times, re-opened the doors all those times, and who literally occupied the relic keep for 1 hour or more, grabbed the alb str relic to carry it in midgard. GM was talking with BG leader, with the guy (my guildie, with me helping him translate in english) and then both alb and mid str relic were ported back to Excalibur. Plenty of QQ messages in broad, at that time, with 99% of the people not knowing what happened. BG leader (Balsaminchen) then shared all what happened to every mid people, and that's it. We accepted the relic reset as a fair reimbursement (is that the right word?) for alb people. After that, we came to acknowledge that Alb people blamed the guy absurdly hard, calling him cheater, hacker, moron, and more so. This post of explanation was meant to let you know that the guy was none of those above. Such thing could have happened to any of you guys too. In my personal opinion, the GM did judge good what happened, and although we mids stood alive for 1 hour in the enemy relic keep (deserving maybe something more than a complete relic reset), i think that it was a fair and honest fix. ---- For those of you TL;DR: read the post, you lazy forum user ^_^ ---- Fiordiluna - Draghi del Nord Midgard |

blatant lie, he was dead, like all mids, in the courtyard, moving and jumping as a dead person the ramps up and took the relic. edit.: im not blaming him for his action, but refering that u opened the relic again and blabla maybe is because, that albs resigned after the relic bugged to odins and no gm reacted. |

Lie or not, none of us was there, on a chair at his side, looking at his monitor, i agree on this. He told us he saw himself alive in the lag chaos, climbing stairs and trying to grab relic, for how futile that action was. But he then came back with all of us, again, wasting 20-30 minutes to get back to sauvage unknowingly carrying the bugged relic. Why would have anyone do that? Only later we told him to try and rid of what seemed to be a bugged relic. And he tried.
I appreciate that, and he will too, i think. Means you've now understand better what really happened. Anyway, i hope that this clarification will help other people too, to understand better what happened. See ya. |

FWIW the relic isn't an inventory item on Uthgard (yet). It is more like a minotaur relic where you get the popup box when you pick it up. This is on the list of things that will be fixed in the RVR rewrite

Can it be destroyed? "It's not fair unless I'm winning!" |
|
The screenshots I've found from that era don't show that in the delve, however, no, the inventoryitem of the relic can't be destroyed (shown in chat)

i think albs abused the bug that all 3 gates closed with 100% everytime the lord respawned on purpose, so all their relics should be taken away and granted the hibs. As they were the only realm that did not abuse bugs

Odd. I was in the return group. We waited for ages in Castle Excalibur for a GM response. We had enough time to do both relics over 3 times. Why were they taken away?

Read the thread. Maybe it was because of the multiple bugs that occurred? ![]() [3:10pm] <myrmidon^> You have to be a c*** to be awesome at daoc
