I've been told to basically go all matter, with enough spirit for reclaim. If that's the best case with current mob damage and pets, then what is the ideal sort of mobs for me to hunt and how?
Yellow, 1 at a time, focus shield?
Blues, 2 at a time, focus shield?
Yellow, send in pet, double dot?
etc
I'm just not sure what the most efficient way is, since npc damage was changed.

If i could start again back a year ago i wouldnt lvl a Cabby, unless you really want to. I would lvl a thurg. With a Thurg u can get in RVR and Raids, with cabby not likely either. And lvling is just as fast, and framing just as much.

The group that runs up against them can't kill them fast enough because smite clerics have sooooooo many tools at their disposal combined with decent ranged damage with 8 of them dudes doing it!

What the hell are you talking about? Yes, the original question was the leveling spec, but you started talking how cabalists don't get invited in RvR groups. Now you are talking about xping...make up your mind. First of all, cabby is a great class in RvR...second, people can always respec after leveling xD.

Bloodshed and violence and savagery were the natural elements of the life Conan knew; he could not, and would never, understand the little things that are so dear to civilized men and women."

The best spec i have found is 31 spirit 44 matter for general pve.

If you want to level a cab i would go with spirit for buffs and matter for focus pull.

For end game i would advise 25 matter 34 body and 33 spirit this will give you aoe disease, blue nearsight, and 33 body debuff. A side effect of this is that you can pve on him using buffs and low level focus shield pretty well.

Players can greatly contribute to a server if you let them.

Uthgard, still the best server. Thanks, Devs.

IMO the best pve farming spec:

46 Matter - final AOE dot (no need to reach 50 for final damage shield)
22 Spirit - First body debuff and also decent pet buffs
17 Body - AOE disease at 15, and extra points for better nuke on single target, especially after body debuff

Have not seen people post this specific pve spec before for a cabalist, but it makes sense to me.

Focus Pull = Waste of Mana without a Sorc or Minst in Grp. You ran totally out of mana if you try to kill a few mobs.
And you need a Cleric of you want pull bigger grps. So you're depending on other ppl.

I run great with Matter 1 under level, rest Spirit

1. Kite:
Its good for killing yellow-orange enemys chain.
You cast a Ruby Simu, put Specdot (for Yellow) or Spec+Base Dot (for Orange) on the mob and walk/run around your ruby simu.
The Dot dmg plus castdmg of your pet kills the mob quite fast. You dont loose Hits or much Mana.

2. Mass Pull (no Focus Shield)
You need almost full Endu. Then AoE Dot on a spot, turn 180° and get on distance. Wait till the AoE dot went off and cast it again on the mobs. Its good to kill masses of blue-yellow Mobs. Meanwhile you send the Saphir Simu on the highest mobs in that crowd (perhaps orange ones).
The Simu wont take any/much dmg while he decreases the hitpoints of the highest mob in the crowd.
Look on your Endu before you pull :)

This two tactics are my favs by leveling solo.
- No high risk of getting killed
- No high Mana waste - so you can chainpull
- Quite fast killspeed (well much higher compared to other classes i've seen solo)
- No need of good Equipment - You can do this till the End with starter Equip and stuff you find during exping.
- No need of other Classes like Sorc, Minst or Clerc
