Hello guys, i'm re-playing daoc after a long time and i was wondering how do you guys make money?

I am a lvl 39 SM right now, and money doesn't seems to flow for me.
I beginning to think i will never be able to afford a template if people are saying 10 plat is cheap...

any hint?

and raids, like dragon or legion... ok, will be hard to get a slot as sm there, but not impossible.

its not easy to make money as a complete newbie to the server. Make some friends and join a guild or get left behind.

you have to get in on the big raids, win a lucky roll and sell the item. However, you need a template to get in on the raids because the elitists don't like un-sc'd people.

DF dia farm is always nice for chars who neither fit in the perfect raid setup nor got tailor for salvaging...

My first char here was SM too.. and it works fine, if you spend some time, and dont go "xp > all"

i was xping solo :

Spindelhalla untill around 40: salvagestuff, nice bracer to sell (silksteel lattice f.e.)

after 40 i went Malmohus entrance Marodeure (around 1g Mob + Highend Leather and some juwels for NPC sell) after 44 i go deeper to Svartalfer who dropp nice Vests (Highend Leather) and some other Salvagestuff too.. and 1-3g per Mob.
Sometimes you can kill Arild, who dropps a nice Necklace with 75er AF Charge, which is around 900g in Housing.

if you spend some time, and got luck with Tinderdrops you can do a lot more then 1p /day

from 46-49 i went Raumarik Windswrepts and farmed them for Band of Ice (sadly atm only 200g worth) and Arcanium+Duskwood drops and Alchimist Ingredients.

From 49 i was able to kill Medina too (Ring is around 900g worth) rest mostly not much worth, so i sold to NPC

with lv 48 i was full sct with a starter Template, which costs around 10p and my Alchimist was Legendary


i need to say: i had a guild, which salvaged the stuff for me for free, so i got 100% profit from my farmed items, but if you do a Salvagechar and not a Alchimist, you will come to the same.


The negative Side of this kind of playing is only : its boring, to solo all the time xdddd

But if you join Groups and do fast xp without any Background Money its even shice at the end, so i prefered the soloing way, and did money > xp

If you dont want to grind with your sm, best option would be to roll a toon who is needed both in pve(high end) and rvr.

For alb that's pala + cleri + theu.
For mid.. hum... I think healer, sham, warrior, skald, bersi. For the latter three you could also farm solo with grp spec. Melee classes need pretty nice temp for high end pve, so .... your decision

i'll lvl my toon a bit then try to search for a guild.

Guess i have a lot to learn to be back in this world
