actually i still take all my arguments as valid... the conc problem with red buffs can be solved by either rolling a frostalf shaman or get aug acu 1-3 (depends on grp setup) with kobi. When you have tanks you can't run away with instadisease anyway since the snare fix, you are better of mocing and shearing all tanks at you = ae shears are better.
The worst thing you can do with instadisease is to run to an enemy to rupt him, this will only lead to the shamans death. And when you don't do that, and position like a shaman should, you will have not many occasions in a fight where instadisease is of any use. and maybe it is not the shamans job to heal, but a small heal or the grp frigg before shell is often worth a lot. Ask tantchen, the best shell shaman i have ever played with. Most of the best shamans i have played with got red d/q, and those with instadisease that respecced because we told them to just try it got a lot better after respeccing to red d/q and all sticked with it. But that is what i love about daoc. There is often no right or wrong in speccs. It all depends on personal likes, grp setup and play. |

So your shaman mocs, then moc is over and he got earthpet´s for example, what he is doing then?
Sticking someone with Hammer? or running in circles and wait until someone clear it? There are so many possibilitys where u can need the instadisease, it´s the best what a shaman can have. The other specs are just crap, and there is NO way in my opinion to talk about that. Red d/q might be good, but still everyone charge d/q is better ![]()

Then your shammie don't know how to play. He shouldn't die when he run in to interupt with insta disease. Maybe i see why our opinion split so far.
There are generally 2 ways to play a shaman: 1. As rupt bot in the front. I agree instadisease is of some value there. To rupt, to save the shaman sometimes, i would still wage AE shears+red D/Q higher. 2. As a supporter in the back or middle, concentrating on shell,fast rebuff, sometimes heal, root of pets and not-charge-tanks. And of course a mix of both. Our shamans mostly play the mix with a tend to 2. but like never full 1. While i guess in your grps shaman do only rupt in the front. And with 2. instadisease is just pointless 80% of the time. You just have a much wider range of opportunities WITHOUT the instadisease. The AE shears are migthy, you can at least heal + 15 more dex for the whole grp. I would like to ask all the people defending the instadisease... have you ever played regular with a shaman wit red d/q in your standard setup over a longer period of time? I played with both kind of shamans (often the same player) over years, and i prefere 47+ aug shaman, it is definatly not a no-go. That is all i say. |

actually the point is, that disease is the strongest utility a shaman got, so with instadisease you could actually cast a spell and disease in almost the same time(when your positioning is correct) and so on. As i told before if u have pets, just run around and disease someone, if a Tank pass you just disease him w/o click him and cast a spell etc. Instadisease is way to good to not have it... I´m too lazy atm to point all of them out.

Ya, pac will easily control everything in the front with a shaman, nothing that will go wrong, he will never get left alone out of range of his own group :d

if the shaman rupts well there should be no need of shell.
and for disease assist there is no easier way as just run near the zerk fart an instant disease and giving the clerics at least some trouble with their boring life. |

ok, problem with petclear is always a bummer for shamies, as they even get ignored more than healers, i know. If both yell for petclear i also tend to help the healer first... but what does instadisease change about this? He can run around and press one key every 8 sec while risking to get killed in the front and lose the whole fight for the grp. Sure this can sometimes help, but the rupt and disease every 8 sec should be no matchwinner. And against good enemies the shaman will die fast, if he only runs into the enemy and tries to just instadisease targets. At least i hope that most enemies know that shaman dead = mid grp lose most of the time. ![]() |

i played both specs with my shamy and actually i choosed °insta-spec°. let me explain myself....
in my pov, red sc/ae-shears are really nice, BUT the difference between red and yellow dq isnt that high and the benefit of ae isnt a grant to win a fight. we loosed 8vs8th where i had sheared ALL psbl buffs from every member of other grp. the players of a grp matters ,not red or yellow dq. if i would run in a setgrp, maybe i would respec to red dq cause there will be a war or any other who is able to clear my adds (tanks,pets), but in pugs its a real better defence for me to run with instadisease. most tanks stop hitting me after they got diseased twice and i am free for rupt cc again. but without that, i need to hope there will be some addclean from other grp-member. wich mosty will not happends, so i am stucked the whole fight with a grey pet, which got healed from the owner ^^^^ also the shell is a really nice ability, but as long as its bugged, it costs alot mana and in this time i am not able to rebuff/shear/cc nor i am able to follow my grp while they push or kite. i would say, from my pov, red dq is more a pvm-spec than a pvp-spec.
