I havn't played this game in years and was wondering if there was a class that is not super expensive to template and play since I will have low funds just starting out. But also one that is useful in raids/rvr. I don't like healers but I am open to pretty much everything else.

Healer, shaman, warrior and zerker are your choices if u wanna play raid and rvr with a relatively cheap template.

Healer and shaman are cheap templates, zerker isn't bad if you go for a simple one, warrior isn't cheap to max everything though.
Raid wise all of the above are good (except that you won't be main tank without a template). Skald is easily the best raid class choice, but tend to have expensive templates. All of these are needed in RvR. A RM is used in RvR and is cheap to template and level, but isn't used on raids.

Warrior is cheap if you cap everything with shield & hammer. Expensive if u need allcap with 2h aswell, but imo it isn't that important.

how is that hard to cap with 2h? with 1h+shield u need to max out dex+shield skill, which u dont need with 2h hammer. so just adjust the gems properly and et voila. doable with 99% template and chepa items

SM is cheap to template/level and good for solo farming / salvage if you go tailoring. You'd be able to build up money for another character. But not used in the main PvE raids or RvR

well, the question is why would u want to farm money? from my experience, leveling one toon from 1-49 and xp'ing some in DF will give u just as much money at 49 that you can build a normal, capping everything 99% template (just no items with charges) that will be more than enough to rvr with.

if rvr is your aim, just lvl a bd/sm and you will be fine. no need to participate in raids etc. imho, you'll have enough money.

Play whatever you wanna play instead of listening to people making fail 70p+ temps because of a skin. For 8v8 it is really easy making templates for more or less any class. To really compete in solo, you will need a better temp, but its mostly about having charges. (Don't need them in temp anyway)
