Not taking a stab at all. I have several characters on hib and alb but every time I try to switch it up and play a mid. I always get super bored really fast. Killing cats and worms. I don't know...maybe just need another class? What is a fun class to lvl with on Mid?

Grinding . . .

Nobody enjoys it, it doesn't matter what class you play - it's boring. Just alt-tab as much as possible or find entertaining players to group with. Or try to bring downtime to an absolute minimum (Make yourself SC'd XP suits, use Potions, have friends Buff you, build elite PvE groups to make it as fast and painless as possible!)

Fortunately, there are some (I use this term very lightly! Most quests rewards just don't match up to the time and effort required.) quests that grant a decent amount of XP to give you a break from this monotony.

I usually alt-tab and play another game as I auto-swing at mobs on Uthgard! Just prevail through the PvE and get to what DAoC is known for - PvP.

PvE (leveling in this case) is was and will be a waste of time. No matter if you Hit an tree, a wolf or a frog...

I wish there was at least the lvl 20 Cmd ..

Skald is a good go to starter class for mid, you'll travel fast and can reduce your downtime fairly well solo as well be wanted for groups / duo / raids. So if you're desperately searching, try that on for size. I can't say any realm is really 'fun' leveling but you can try to go as quick as you can as the other posters have stated. Good luck and keep your chin up.

Just make a char that every grp need. A shami or a healer as example. Then you can mostly easy find a grp and dont need to hit your cats and worms alone ;)

Mid is easy to level on compered to alb/hib.

If you level a caster get a pom4 "friend" to stick ya and boooom before you look around the level's have passed.

Same goes for a tank get a shammie "friend" to stick ya and -----------

I would rather level any class on mid then doing any other toons on alb or hib again!

I think the OP is complaining that it is boring killing cats and crap not that it takes ages to do. Using a buff bot does not make it more enjoyable and neither is it only available for mid.

As to the OP, the starter quests in Hib will get you a full suit of recruit gear, i think you get most of the recruit gear on Alb and you will only get 2 or 3 pieces on Mid and then some are duplicates anyway.

To get past the grind that is the first 10 levels, I've found it easier to level to 5 doing the few starter quests then head into Jord to get 3 bubs of XP doing easy delivery tasks (can be done each level up to 20) . These pay ok for your level and should eventually allow you to buy some average kit to compensate for the lack of quest rewards.

Don't bother going into nisses at all unless you are grouped because it is terrible for pulling. Instead kill the mobs on the mainland near nisses until 9.

at 9 go to "strider isle" or whatever its called and kill those to 10, then get the quest to kill to more of the from Vasud.

from 10-11 it should be relatively easy to get into groups and level.

well, that is what i do in my perpetual PVE existence.

There are leveling guides for each realm, but following them is pretty boring. I always enjoy a change of scenery from time to time. One of my favorite spots I never see anyone in is Gotar near Ft. Atla. The beach is great leveling from 5-10, and once 10+ you are onto Spindly Rock Crabs and one or two more levels and you can kills Perfidious Pooks until almost 15 if I am not mistaken. They drop a lot of "gems" that sell for decent money at that level.

Basically, I take the road less traveled and explore rather than following the same leveling guide for every toon I level. That really does get redundant. As everyone else has said, leveling isn't fun anywhere. If it is that bothersome to you, just wait until Camelot Unchained in a couple years which claims to have almost no PVE.

Was something changed last months? I have always done starter guests in mid with all my 20 mid chars and got full gear+a part of jewelery that was enought up to L8-10.

Sorry? :( I tried for efficient leveling not exploration fun. I wish I could make it more exciting. As each guide says if you find good spots posts them so I can add them. It's rather hard doing guides for all three realms by myself ^^;

Ayb, I did not mean to bash your guides at all. They are great, and I have used them over and over. I was merely saying that using the same guide for character after character can get redundant, so I change things up a bit. Your guides are very efficient in terms of leveling. It is hard to max efficiency and entertainment at the same time in this game so mixing the grind up from time to time can offer some relief.

Of all the 3 realms, Midgard was the most boring for me. Hence why I only have one 50 there. :?
[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> You have to be a c*** to be awesome at daoc
[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> that's what I learnt
[3:11pm] <Frosty_> then why does austerim suck

The group that runs up against them can't kill them fast enough because smite clerics have sooooooo many tools at their disposal combined with decent ranged damage with 8 of them dudes doing it!
