Stop whining and enjoy the changes! The modifications are to please the masses yet there is STILL whining.

as for taj stuff, did you not read the DURABILITY info? Your old items will decay faster so you might as well swap while you still can... c'mon people stop the qqing.

Whats the point of the new items anyways? I mean they will still be custom items, wont be? Isnt thats the reason tajendi was removed in the first place? Removing one custom item with another one? The new item can be refarmed when tajendi will be opened as a timed event? I think we need more info about this, otherwise everyone will keep the current items. Why would someone make a template with an item that can only be aquired sometimes when tajendi will be opened at an event?

As for the BGs change, that wont bring the people to rvr. People that prefere BGs will still do what they always did, when they will cap BGs they will just reroll. The BGs are not the problem, the broken community is the problem. Elitists people that make high rank grps and roll everything, talk s**t to the others and pick on low/unexperienced players. The mentality is this: the low grps goes out, gets killed few times in a row and then they quit. The RvR zone is way too big, and the grps that run in 8 prefere to switch zone or go somewhere to play like that. Remember Rosendale event, everybody in one map, thats what made people zerg. Old frontiers setup with 100 players in RvR zones doesnt work.

You expect people to trade their items in without them knowing what they're getting in return? :gaga:

The group that runs up against them can't kill them fast enough because smite clerics have sooooooo many tools at their disposal combined with decent ranged damage with 8 of them dudes doing it!

Please.
Get out of my sight, you clearly are a troll account.

This blind nerf on items really SUCK since you cant even think about make a template without knowing stats/charges that will be on it after exchanging... and also since these items aren't farmable anymore you have risk too much. Seriously you guys dont think, seems you are the real "players" of this server, because you are just playing with our time spent on this shard, GJ.
Not even speaking about the 3L cap that will scare all players and increase the gap between old / new players, thing that you guys seems will never understand and keep getting worse day by day.. all wasted words thrown to the wind anyway so..
There was a time when Uthgard 1.0 existed and maaaany toons and arrpees arose... but now:

Hi,

i like these new changes. Sure, again there is something "taken away"... but for me, i like Uthgard because it is not (!) an easymode server. The way to 1.69 is the right way in my opinion... and i really appriciate the lot of work, the GMs do.

So thumps up and thank you guys... and i hope all those whiners dont demoralize you.

Just curious, what will the enemies be worth rp wise in the new Thid? Because if I remember correctly it was only 1rp/kill?

Have you considered that players who are dieing should actually fear death and avoid it? What incentive does a person or their group have to use that personal (or group) 30 minute timer (or whatever it is) insta heal(s) if they know they might get RPS anyway? With this change You've just changed player behaviors in high intensity situations.

You know, that I'm generally a "fan" of yours, but here your exaggerate way too much. It's not like dead players get full RPs while dead. Getting only 25% is still a massive cut in rp-gain, so people will surely try to avoid dieing, however some classes just have a much harder time at surviving than others. Especially because some classes heavily depend on the group to survive. A caster can't survive without a good group and some aid - However a det tank CAN, due to det and IP and not being primary target. So it is not all about "throwing RAs to survive", as normal casters can't throw anything in this regard (MoCing lifetapers not considered).

As for the change: Like! I would have like to see the final BG a little higher, up to like 45 or 46, but than again it's already quite "custom", so better leave as it is.

And as for the "digging a hole with all the customisations" - Well some customisations are just necessary imho, due to population being too low. On like in 2002 you could go to emain and find 40+ inc - not often and not always, but people would even pick up up as level 43 cleric or pala, if they were desperately looking for endu or heals/buffs. Here this is outright impossible, so lower players need some "love".

Imho customisations such as rp-bonus at off-times in emain, frontier xp bonus and the 25% thing a well as the 36+ BG are necessary here and have a perfect justification. They don't massively influence balance or gameplay, they just help countering the lower population compared to live. So basically non-livelike features counter non-livelike server-size, which is perfectly fine imho.

how much i love whiners.... reading this makes me laugh too much. changes are actually good as hell.
u should think about future instead of an item custom like tajendi..
maybe u dont have any clue about SI items, maybe u dont understand that if they are making these changes they probably have even smth else in mind, and could be close to see OLD RAS or SI. i'm sure it is... cuz i trust in their work, so pls be patient, stop trolling and play. good day everyone

I didnt like it when Taj was removed. But now it's gone, fine. I see NO reason what so ever to bring it back again, not even for a short spell. Let it rot.

What will happen is that high lvl grps with high knowledge of Taj and what drops etc will superfarm it 24/7. New players? Pfft.....let em rot in hell (seems like the new motto here on Uth). They can never reach those items.

I don't understand why GM's are trying so hard to make it so hard for new players. I really dont.

Let Taj stay dead and FOCUS on SI.

And for the Old RA's...."Cato the Elder's in the Roman Senate, Carthago delenda est, Carthage must be destroyed"

I wish a painful death to the plans for Old RA's as well :D

Thing is, if decay formula will be live like, it will take years for a normal item to decay. Many people here played live to rr11-12 with same template and their gear is still on 40ish or 50ish % durability. I would not worry about this if decay will be properly implemented. Keep in mind those people played mostly that 1 char for 1-2 years constantly and still weren't able to decay items fully. In fact, I've never ever heard of anyone that crumbled the item to dust on live at all. So, even if tajendi items decay at triple faster rate than normal ones, they will still last a year or so, maybe more...since we know not many people play only 1 char on uthgard, most have a lot of twinks.

"He was concerned only with the naked fundamentals of life. The warm intimacies of small, kindly things, the sentiments and delicious trivialities that make up so much of civilized men's lives were meaningless to him. A wolf was no less a wolf because a whim of chance caused him to run with the watch-dogs. Bloodshed and violence and savagery were the natural elements of the life Conan knew; he could not, and would never, understand the little things that are so dear to civilized men and women."

Thats why decay was choosen as the best way to fade out these items. What most don't see is that these items still have plenty of use time and one year is a lot to adapt to changes. We offer the item exchange so players can get more robust new versions of the items. These new items will be the items that will drop if Tajendi is opened temporarily. Its up to the player to stay with the old versions of the items but accept a quicker decay.

I agree that the Master Smith should tell you in advance what is in the bag if you exchange your item.
It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.

Thank you. I'm not sure if the GMs are trying to play "Good cop Bad cop" but Abydos seriously should learn how to talk to people if he is going to be lead GM. I don't see how he couldn't understand people would want to know what they are getting out of a trade.
There will be a group of people out there who will want this realm to be entirely Mythic-like. Exactly like vanilla, drop rates/xp rates, basically everything and you will not be able to please them unless it is exactly like vanilla.

These people have their nostalgia goggles on so tight it's cutting off the bloodflow to their brain and they believe that vanilla was perfect and nothing was wrong with it.
