Poor guy..

I doubt it. Necromancer can work extremely well against tank grps, but as mentioned before, a necromancer is by far less effective than with buffbot, since every buff would add extra abs to the pet making it almost unkillable for melees. Also the fact that the pet HP is not shown in the grp window (a feature that has been added way later) makes it really hard to coordinate with your Clerics, a set grp could work around this issue but you're going to have a very hard time incase you ever try to pug as a necromancer.
In addition to that, necromancer performs poorly against hybrid or caster grps

what about: as buffshears will not be implemented at 1.65, coordination seems to be fairly easy, right? and manatransfer at the target patchlevel with spread being the most power-efficient heal seems pretty cool as well. i guess it will depend on how the necro pet is getting implemented (cc immune? correct pathing? abs scaling with buffs? etc.) - at the very least it could be a fun choice

If necro get patch level 1.65 it will not be that decent. Most good changes have been made later for that class, you will probably have that annoying LOS problems too that costs much time in a fight.
There are much better choices for an alb grp than pick a necro imo.

Well those conclusions are interesting, but it's quite strange that the "manaburn class" (also the onlyone) isn't calculated for any stable setup.. and many high lvl battles are "mana-battles" on daoc.. and much many other MMO

He can also debuff armor absorb(-250), that would make him a good combo with a pushing tank group but that not many albs play.. :?:
There was a time when Uthgard 1.0 existed and maaaany toons and arrpees arose... but now:

Yes, I wonder exactly how much that debuff would increase damage for melees vs chain wearers? Interesting.

It would be fun to see a successful alb group include a necro in their setup :)

I can remember when ppl used to say that animist was really bad in rvr. Than we made an rvr setup with a really strong player as animist and we became one of the best agramon elite group on Excalibur.
That player was Kratos and our guild was Realm Hunters.
I think that if really good players make a serious setup, it will work.

We were just an 8 men guild called RH because few of them were in RH on other server. In few months we were one of the top ten guilds on herald and we used to have 10-15 min fight in agramon with the other elite 8men guild. Call it as you prefer but we were really competitive.
Btw I just wanted to say that even unconventional groups can work well and be competitive if played well.

Tell the admins to finish the server and i'm 100% sure that there will be at least a few guilds, which will try to run with a necro ;)

And a question for the oracle: which realm will requiem play on uthgard, if they play at all? Looking forward to some fights with even realmrank :D

Cait - how do you see Mid groups with a Savage with old RA's?

I'm thinking something along the lines of:

Healer (Pac)
Healer (Aug)
Warrior
Beserker
Beserker
Beserker
Savage
Runemaster.

Do you think it would work? I reckon that with the beserker (with occasional RM) assist train, the Savage would be free to tear other targets apart.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,

Anarion
