So I am debating between Zerker/Savage/Warrior.

Warrior has always been a fun class for me in old DAoC days but how will they fare on Uth 2.0? How do they fare against CC here? How about 1v1(yes I know won't happen) to arms/Hero?

Zerker was also 1 of my favorites. Do they have Charge skill? Will they do ok against CC? How is Uth 2.0 DPS compared to other light tanks?

Savage was not one I played much. I think I remember them not having Charge so they were useless with old RA's. Is this true in Uth 2.0? How will a Savages DPS compare to other light tanks? Will they fare well against CC?

I am gonna play 3 classes when Uth 2.0 is released. Healer and Runie and 1 of the melee listed above and see which I like more. Of those 3 classes I plan on playing...what do you think will be in higher demands in Uth 2.0? I know healers are always needed but in the past it seemed like there was an overage of healers and to many were looking for group.

I might even consider a Shaman but again are they needed for RvR much and will they be sought after or overplayed?

Savage/Warrior/Zerker can all get det and cheap purge so they're great against CC.

The Charge you're thinking of won't exist with old RAs.

I believe damage wise Savage > Zerker. Savages have much better avoidance to being peeled with 360 evade and evade/parry buffs. However a major factor will be how blocking vs duel wield or savage h2h is implemented.

There is always a huge demand for healers and shaman. They're much harder to play well compared to those tanks though.

Honestly, it doesn't matter. I am 99% sure Midgard will be the uber zerg realm when Uth comes back so pick ANYTHING, go out, zerg up, get all 6 relics and declare yourself king of uthgard.

Everyone else will.
There will be a group of people out there who will want this realm to be entirely Mythic-like. Exactly like vanilla, drop rates/xp rates, basically everything and you will not be able to please them unless it is exactly like vanilla.

These people have their nostalgia goggles on so tight it's cutting off the bloodflow to their brain and they believe that vanilla was perfect and nothing was wrong with it.

Not sure if it'll be different on Uthgard or not but most Mid groups on lolgins don't run a Warrior. 8)
[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> You have to be a c*** to be awesome at daoc
[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> that's what I learnt
[3:11pm] <Frosty_> then why does austerim suck
lordgriffon wrote:Oh by the way... ever seen a group of 8 smite clerics? Or play against a group like that? I have. Absolute devastation. The group that runs up against them can't kill them fast enough because smite clerics have sooooooo many tools at their disposal combined with decent ranged damage with 8 of them dudes doing it!

Yeah this is what I am trying to figure out. I don't want to take the time to get a Warrior to 50 only to find out he is a last resort invite for groups. I know warriors rock for PvE but that's not what I am after. I know Savages in Genesis were super OP and if you played one everyone just said you were playing them for the OP ability.

I just want a melee that is gonna be sought after in RvR without having everyone yell the only reason I killed them was because I took the easy button class.

on genesis guard is still useless since there are the old bugs uth already fixed (or finishes fixing atm) and since svg can stun anyways why take a warrior :)
they benefit more of another dual wielder than of a useless guard ability

DMG : Svg > Zerk > War
RA : Zerk = War > Svg
Savage weakness = no viable snare with h2h and no PF
Zerk = PF/Snare
Svg = stun back 4sec + 9sec by side with chain...
Conclusion -> Zerk+Savage... additional

both are viable IF the def penetration h2h is correctly implanted, which were not the case on uth 1.0.
+ correct % quad ect.. which is not the case on genesis. (svg OP)

only the server can say if zerk+savage OR zerk + zerk

warrior not essential if no casters, even guard works.

You can go splitspec axe(sword)/hammer and use hammer snare backstyle without wasting RA for PF.
