Just depends on what you're playing with. I've seen it happen a thousand times: healers and shamans get theurg petted = can't be CC'd = melee rupt. Then you have 8 toons melee rupting, 3-4 of which are perma CC immune = hard to get DPS out with casters. It's exponentially better to CC out the mid cc than pet them. Then again, if theurg pets are doing good damage that plan might actually work better. On genesis earthlords hit for 30dmg. Cheers,

Hi, did not read all the reply but i am expecting to roll alb with some people on uth 2 and i am evaluating the effectiveness of FRIAR in setup.
I would like to go with Cler Cler Sorc Minst Friar Merc Cab Theurg/cab/merc depends I think friar gives quite a big stability to alb grp cause of the 3rd healer role, main heal sickness, sidesnare + stun (if 44 staff) and elemental resists that are SO MUCH important for alb. What do you think about? I am also really wondering if the 44 staff worth but probably depends if you have slammers or not in the setup Don't need to list my chars to recall you who I am

The friar really only brings the resists and a stupid long snare.. but they can easily be cc'd out. I'd rather have an extra merc or arms in place of a friar in the group for the dps.
Other issue without running a theurg is lack of haste for tank in the group..- depending on how uthgard is going to implement haste and endurance pots. An arms without haste isnt' going to kill anything, and without ToA bonuses, there will be a pretty noticable difference in pole swing speed between theurg haste and what you can get from a pot. Trying to snare through bubble is going to be a ****** without red haste. -Ramo

youre just implying no mid players can kite, you forget that you can indeed be CCed in old RA sos. Saying SM is a total waste in a 3 mid caster setup is just plain stupid...

can easily charge haste and have a fast pole in your inv. to peel and a slow one for dps. Theurg is quite bad with old ra's - 2cab minstrel 2cler sorc + merc/merc or mer/arms is superior to any other alb setup. Friar has nothing to offer for any serious grp - no det nuff said Mid castergrp : Is not good, go hybrid or go home @Outphaze saying that 2x bard is bad against tank grps shows you have probably a very limited amount of OF/old Ra experience, double bard is extremely good to prevent tank grps from rushing your 2 casters aswell as stopping enemy castergrps in their kite. 3x druid is trash - there is absolutely no need for a 3rd gp and you're way worse rupt wise than any bard - plus double bard allows to permanently have body and energy resists for your backline aswell as for your frontline. nonetheless I don't want to turn this into a discussion, especially not since beginners could believe your lack of knowledge talk. regards |

For sure, removing one cab you lose a little bit of DPS but changing it for arms.. i think can worth. long snare is nice and about date mezz is not an issue with qc demezz and minstrel in grp. plus root time can be easily exploited with heal\cures\annoy Are you sure +24 heat and cold + another healer\disease healer won't worth? The dos with staff is not bad though, can easy assist the mercy for some dmg in later stage of the inc Don't need to list my chars to recall you who I am

On page 11 you agreed that theurg is op, now he is quite bad. Too much genesis I guess. Makes even the smartest forget everything about how the real daoc was and should be. |

Uha...Theurgs are weak...?! Great fewer pets and fewer rupt, so let me jump into that gap : Casters in general will fall to our Axes like sheep ! Concentrate on tank setups, will also result in longer / more interesting fights - Win-win Situation for everyone

IF they manage to get Weaponskill to work the correct way, and IF they manage to get True Sight to work the correct way, and even IF youre one of the first 50s and IF you manage to get an RR advantage over the rest of the Stealther-herd...you could at least kill one every 30 mins ^^
