Best weapon for warrior, sword or hammer?

Doesn't have a snare in 1.65 so isn't very attractive for that reason.

For ease and endurance usage, hammer is probably best.

Hybrid spec may be worth a shot though, although endurance usage on sword styles is significantly higher than conquer/provoke.

You could do something like 50 sword, 42 shield, and rest hammer (or enough hammer to get side and rear snares). That way you can snare and peel, but still take advantage of the growth rate of Ragnarok.

Keep in mind that heavy tanks do get access to prevent flight on this patch level.

It depends on what you want to do.

Solo pve killing yellow and orange mobs, you want sword, it is the best damage and end use (better than hammer actually since you will 90% use reactive styles).

Duo/trio pve it is axe, since you have a shaman preferably.

Epic encounters, or high level pve it is sword (best taunt in mid).

Normal RvR it is Hammer, unless you have Prevent Flight, then you can do well enough without Conquer.

Solo RvR it is Hammer, no buts. Surprise targets don't like crush, and for others the Conquer snare and Lambast is useful.

Will the Warrior be a Viable Toon for RVR 8v8? Or will the class just be a "well there are no Savages or Zerkers, so let's grab him" kind of class?

With regards to the Sword or Hammer debate. Hammers are ugly, I would go sword..

Warrior is definitely viable and even needed in 8v8 RvR. Though most of the time he fills a defensive role as peeler and blockbot.

If you autotrain (easy if you just level as Axe), a good hybrid spec is:

50 Sword
50 Shield
29 Hammer
16 Parry

2h Sword and 1h hammer. Saves 14 points on Prevent flight. Can be blockbot/peeler or jump on the assist train.

You have to auto train Axe, Hammer and Sword to auto train any. You can't just spec into one and autotrain the other two.

https://forums.freddyshouse.com/threads/class-auto-train-list.195769/
All the weaponlines are autotrained. So if you put points into one weapon line while levelling up all the way to 48, for example, when you respec all three weaponlines are reset to 12. So effectively, you don't gain any autotraining points at all unless you don't put any points into any weapon line while levelling.

Throwing weapons !!!

But to be serious, the most you normally can get away with autotraining a warrior, is no weapon points until level 8. Then you can go 50/50/29, instead of 28 at level 50 8)
