Best Grpchar

Hi all,
i have chosen to play on midside at the betarelease. My main char will be a shadowblade. But to achieve the equipment for the sb i want to level up a grpchar first to go for pvm raids (dragon, tg, df etc) Iam not sure which class has the best chances to get invited. Classes i would suggest are: Shaman: but every grp only needs one shaman. So maybe there will be too many shamies Healer: Maybe aug speced? I think a lot of healers will go for pac and so there could be a lack of aughealers? Warrior: How many warrios will be in a tg or dragon grp? Runemaster: are supprms viable for pvm grps? What will be the best choice to find pvm grps easily? thx a lot |

havent played a lot of mid, but when i did, there was a serious lack of aug healers. shamans probably come in second.
most mid players seem to just wanna roll a zerk and doublefrost their way to victory. and i cant blame em. you could ofc just use the beta to try all classes you like and getting to know some people. who knows? you might end up with a set grp that way which would solve your problem. good luck! |

Hey!
Here's my opinion: Shaman: 2 shaman can work aswell, because they could throw out more and better buffs. and since you dont plan to go to rvr, you can go with an aug/mend spec, which is a very welcome spec in every pve encounter. Healer: 2 Aug healer are fine aswell.. solid base buffs for everyone and lots of heal.. nice! Warrior: the amount of actual tanks needed heavily depends on the encounter... but even if you dont "tank", you still can put out 2h and dps RM: also very usefull, but probably only once per grp berserker: high ws and dual wield make him very important in midgard pve, since we dont have pet spam.. the 4 classes above are the support - he gets the job done (someone has to do the dirty work, right? ![]() (savage): in uthgard 1.0, I remember him not quite as strong as a zerker, but still ok. someone may correct if im wrong. ![]() if I were u, i'd pick healer, shaman, warri edit: i agree, there probably will be enough zerkers ![]() |

Shamans - you wont need two for a group, one is all you need. Rm's - usefull for pve? not really - high level mobs will resist the rm's spells. Warrior - never use your 2h. always have your shield out, even if your not the main tank, you can guard the main tank. |

If you consider epic encounter raids, then the chance of getting randomly invited based on class might be like this: Light Tank (we use plenty of these) (a savage often outdamages a berserker) Healer (always lacking, but for more stable raids people prefer known good healers, so you might have to build up a reputation or rr) (there will be more aug healers than pac for epic encounters, since pac is mainly for pom) Shaman (usually 1 per group, but randoms are invited often) Runemaster (darkness, you are there mainly for the damage add, so maybe 0-2 per raid) (high level mobs penetrate bladeturn) Warrior (usually 2 per raid, and both in main group, here you need high rr and good gear to be viable) (if fighting linked mobs in TG, there will be more 'main groups', so more warriors, maybe 2-3 groups) [example, on uth 1.0, the 12 man dragon-raids used 2 warriors, and almost always the same ones, one rr11, and the other was usually rr8-rr11] |

shaman - i said 2 is optional, not a must.. if you go for df raid or dragon, there will NEVER be the situation, where an aug/mend shaman wont find a grp. ("sry, we already have a shaman and dont need any more buffs" -no player ever) Rm - wow, I hope you play a healer on release. u dont take a RM for nukes, you take him for the auto-bubble, which saves alot of mana. warrior - ofc guarding can be better than 2h dps, but thats what i meant with "actual tanking" - i incluced 2nd tanks in that thought.. if you arent in the main tank grp as a warrior, 2h dps can be an option you aren't helping, argueing about minor details, which are very situational and in some cases just wrong (and they dont change the outcome either. shaman/healer/warri are save bets)... if you wanna help the thread opener, give him a VERY general overview - and dont pick certain situations where some setup will be superior to anothers by 0,385% .. thanks |

high level mobs - as in Boss Mobs - they will hit through bubble, so why would you take an RM with you when you could have another melee char swinging and doing damage? |

I can't remember what I found this but I believe the formula for whether or not a mob's attack will be absorbed by your BT is: Your level (50) / Mob Level (80 for Dragon) = .625 I'll take a 62.5% chance to completely negate an attack every 6 seconds for the whole party.
