Quest for the optimal Pala farmbot

Hi fellas,
Trying to figure how to build the optimal pala farmbot that can be viable for soloing stuff (like Dartmoor or dia-seals) but also be optimal for raiding groups. Of course I wanna take it for a spin in RvR every now and then too, but the spec is supposed to be 100% focusing on PvE first and foremost. Here's the specs that I am working with so far. They include 154 AT-points (slash to 48 and chants to 48): 47 Chants (20% heat buff for dragon) 21 Parry 29 Slash 50 Shield or 47 Chants (same as above) 25 Parry 39 Slash 42 Shield Now, as far as my knowledge goes, blockrate from shield-spec is compshieldspec/2, so the difference between 42 shield and 50 shield is 4% more blockrate. It is (however) some expensive 8 points in shield, that could otherwise be used on a respectable slash-lvl and some more parry. Weight in your opinion and if you have ideas for RA's aswell, that is greatly appreciated aswell! Last edited by Rin on May 20, 2016 10:01, edited 2 times in total.

How do you feel about Saracen with Thrust spec ?
And what about auto-train, are you using it ? Don't go below 50 composite with your weapon I'd say. Soloing is also about killing mobs, and you'll also want at least SOME damage to taunt and keep aggro. RA : I'd say some passive dex/mastery of block obviously 42 shield is enough Paco - Two-Handed Paladin, Defender of the Church, Scourge of Pagans, Mighty Crusader and such.

I've updated the AT in the OP. It was including the 77 points that you can get from slash (but not thrust).
Im ok with saracen. Believe blockrate from dex is (((dex*2)-100)/40), so in that case the difference between, say, Sara with 80+15 dex starting points and Brit 60+15 starting pts would be 4.75% blockrate on sara vs 3.75% on Brit. But I'm not sure it's worth it going thrust > slash, just because of the loss of 77 points. Another way is of course just to keep weapon composite and then drop rest in shield along the way |

how about going to 48 chants for the last AF chant?
It's the thrill of the chase
and I'm coming after you. |

Very much a consideration as well Ilerget.. In that case the spec (with both your opinions in consideration) would be something like:
48 Chants 23 Parry 39 Slash 42 Shield |
|
My Highlander Paladina on Uth 1.0 was
46 Chants 20 Parry 39 Slash 42 Shield without AT. I would not even bother with AT, except you got someone or a group that pushes you to 48, because of, a paladin without chants won't be taken into any group and will have a HARD time leveling at all. But maybe I'll go crush for leveling to 40 this time, and the 8 levels to 48, we'll see. ôÔ Never had any issues farming anything up to red con. Purple was tricky to ok, depending on mob level which was hard to "guess" then (especially in Dartmoor). Albion Forever!

If you want to solo farm, you should really go for max defense and saracen/thrust.

thrust is only worth it for the 44 snare for rvr. PVE i would always go slash.
Wouldn't you want more damage for farm? Fabienne - Blademaster
Junia - Bard Audrina - Ench ----- Zoe - Sorc Stella - Pala Devon - Scout |

as a paladin you might was well forget about high damage. However, if you FULL autotrain, there is a 50 slash spec available.
50 Slash 43 Chants 42 Shield Other than that, defense trumps all. Get yer dex, high shield/chant/parry, enough weapon to hit the mob. A friar with Dodger 3 is more effective though FYI. |

More effective for what? Dartmoor mobs? |
|
Diamond's etc. I mean if you're SoLo farming
