I have a good idea of the game but not from this era. I'm wondering if I get get by as a buffbot/healing shaman or something like that. Both PvE and RvR, I'll check back to respond. I'm not sure what else to ask its been so long.

you can never go wrong with shammy. always in demand.
just keep in mind it will be impossible to do ANYTHING solo except staring at walls in jord.

bonus tip: dont roll mid :p

Hmm, why not mid? I'm open to Alb or Hib. I'm just hoping to group up even if its just to grind and chat with some people.

mids going to be overpopulated 100%. thats why. but hey....i cant blame you if you just feel like home there :D
also theres classes that will ALWAYS find some kind of grp and shaman is definately one of them.
so are there any other classes you might be interested in? or which role in a group would you want to fulfill?
let me just tell you that, especially when you are taking a very casual approach, it CAN be very nice to be able to at least do SOME stuff solo. even if its just whacking away at some mobs to earn some casherino while talking trash in guild chat.

I'm pretty open to other classes. I just started a dwarf warrior for now to let me whack at stuff. I remember shamans having a rough life if there isn't someone to follow around. lol

I think mentalist (hib) mana spec is what you are looking for. They are high in demand, can heal and dot. Unlike cleric and shaman they can actually kill things sometimes.

Well its been a while for myself as well but I do remember being able to solo pve with a Shaman, its not the best solo class by far but I was able to do a lot more than stare at a wall, Cave/Aug(or whatever the buff spec is) I ::think:: allowed for stacking dot's, kinda like a mix between albion's cabalist (no pet) and an enhance cleric. Jack of many trades sort of thing.
Wake up, Neo.

ofc cave-shammy can solo like a boss....but no group would take a cave-sham sadly.

They don't stack dots either. Speccing cave just reduces the variance per tick, reduces resist rates and the like

Resists depends on the level of the spell, not the level you have in the skill.
Using a lvl 8 dot will see just as many resists with 8 cave, as it will see with 50+20 cave.
