Hi Midgard,

Ostusill says he selling mjuklaedar armour but you can't wear it. I think this is tied with him being a lining merchant when linings were brought in, but 1.65 is before linings. Which really leaves you wondering how the game mechanics work.

The same applies to Saya in the craft merchant hall near the lower forge but she is out of the way not so much of an issue.

If you want some mjuklaedar armour then you want Im in Koparen Marknard (in the North East of Jordheim), he is near the big doors to the East (which you can't go through).

I have raised an issue #1080 which has been assigned. MT :]

I have updated issue #1080 with what I believe is the evidence. This basically boils down to there must be a patch note update for when linings were introduced. The only patch note I can find that talks about linings is 1.74. If you look at all the reverences to “lining” in the patch note I think it is obvious that they are introducing linings.

It was going to cause a stink with some. I was one of those who was very upset when this came in. In the old days you made linings to go inside armour. They quality of the linings was not important just an extra silly step to make chain (and I guess other metal armour – but not studded) more complicated to make. Now and then you would make a 99% piece or if you were really lucky a 100% piece. You would put that aside and make another and sell the 99% and 100% pieces on your merchant. I certainly saw no advantage to the ability to stack them but perhaps I was not making enough.

My recall is linings were introduced after SI. I thought some time in NF but the patch notes suggest it was some time in Catacombs at which point I was still playing, to be irritated.

I would like to see linings removed but I accept they did stop, what might be considered, a minor exploit.

Either way something needs to be done.

If we are to have linings:
- Merchants that are selling linings need to have the items marked as linings and not apparently leather armor.
- The armor recipes need to be changed from using leather armor to use linings.

If we are to not have linings:
- Remove linings from merchants that are marked as leather armor. Or I guess remove the merchants if that is all they sell.

I am still convinced the latter is the easier and is correct for 1.65. I could also accept the former and put up with linings. In the end it does seem like I am the only muppet who is worried about this or who managed to buy the un-wearable armour from Ostusill. MT :]

It occurs to me, as I write this, I need to test how to make chain armour and is there a recipe for a lining. When I can get back on the server I'll have a go.

edit - for typo

I just checked with 'bonze pansarkedja gloves'. You can use leather gloves bought from Ostusill or from Im (an actual leather armour merchant) to make the chain gloves. MT :]
