Nightmares in DF

Before i post a bug on tracker , i want to do some more research on issue and find out if more people have noticed the nightmares in DF will not let you cast spells at normal distances, you have to be standing right on them almost , I found this to be 90% true in df except few areas where they spawn.
please help !

I looked/searched issue tracker and did not find this issue.

Has been an issue since beta started. Whether there's an issue logged or not, idk

The staff is well aware of how buggy mobs are in DF, there was a issue made early may about this. The thing is we don't know what is bugs and what is working as intended, as they have added special abilities/snares the ability to change target with no reason for aggro change etc to many of the mobs to supposedly *spice up* combat. Maybe it is a nightmare special ability that has been added that you have to be within certain range to hit them, who knows really.

Correction, we do not try to "spice up" combat. We are interested in original behavior of mobs.

What he describes sounds like Z axis issues we have already seen in other cases.

Well then that was completely misunderstood. It was a quote from Mythics 1.52 patch notes, not from us.

General: Selected monsters throughout the realms have been given the ability to use combat styles while in battle. We are just starting to integrate this into existing monster encounters to add to the variety and spice of melee combat. More will be added as this version progresses.
