Certainly difficult to understand why they couldn't be bothered to give out at least some semi-viable gear for level 30. Just the same sort of junk you'd normally have at that level - make it non-salvagable, non sellable, no harm done.

It takes for F'ing ever under normal circumstances to get equip that doesn't completely suck (don't want to get into drop rates here...) - so appearing out of thin air as level 30 and having nothing is...well -.-

I'm nearly sure that doing 2-3 tasks will give you enough coin for horse ticket. About the armor you get for free...is way better than the armor we got when there was no i30

you hit 3.5 before actually getting enough money for horse (more or less if you're lucky with trashloots ^^)

Sounds like less than an hour played, so what's the problem?

It's not i30. It's free 30 with sh*te gear. There's a difference.

my own experience of trying to roll a kobold hunter went this way:

my freshly minted rogue appeared in Fort Alta all alone with not another soul in sight. Tried to run to Jordhiem, got 10 minutes up the road, dodging and weaving, to audliten and a rock crab snuck up on me.

ported back to Alta and figured i'd best do some tasks to get the cash. After about 45 minutes, got to level 4 before i had enough for a ticket. Spend 15 minutes on a horse and arrived at Jord, used the Level 30 to find i still had no cash.

Thought about what to do, run to West Skona or run to Svasud Faste.

After being thoroughly bored and alone for the first hour, i logged rather than risk another hour doing nothing than semi-afk running about.

If you don't know what to do with your time, then you're doing something wrong.

Even a green con mob to 30 drops a nice amount of money. Just invest those maybe 30 minutes.

Especially, you're in Midgard with your hunter, for sure there are more than enough players around that may spare a few gold. Or not? Midgard must be overflowing with platinum with that amount of time they had to farm in DF.

I meant that you don't need a map to avoid hard mobs if you look around before going forward and watch how they move to look for a space to sneak between them

In midgard - made a dwarf I believe, started at audilten - took the quests in the village - had 5s withing 10 minutes of play.

I agree that this is not well balanced as maybe some starting zones have no quests giving money but if the purpose is to test a class i30, well, just make a quick character where you know it won't be difficult to go to the city (granted too that going from audilten to Jordheim is done in 5 minutes)

Kind of defeats the purpose of testing race/class/spec combinations.

Would be great if you could just type /level at your first trainer and be ported to major city. Would actually be using the beta correctly. I believe 1-5 has been tested vigorously enough already. so it seems pointlessly tedious to have to endure that first.

I really hope the i50 stage has a little more thought and focus on RvR and that we wont need to xp/farm before we can get on and test it.

I do agree on this.
I will happily grind my way to 50 when the server is back up but for beta testing purpose it just has to be way more accessable for everyone.

I can´t understand how someone can even complain about "the economy" or how much effort he had to put in to achieve 30 bla bla... no one cares. You are doing it for testing purpose and not your "look what I achieved ego".

It will get wiped anyway.

So lets hope for better testing parameter when i50 kicks in, espacially when you plan to have loads of players in the frontiers

Midgard players don´t just simply play Daoc - we play Daoc to riun the game for Alb and Hib

RvR is what happens while you are here complaining
