Perforate Artery: technical questions

Dearest videtorium,
while beta testing the funcionality of the Shadowblade class I encountered the following things on several occations: 1) I seem to actually have missed a PA. It was not "You fail to execute perfectly." and I was definitely standing directly in front of the target. Nevertheless I got the message "You miss!". Now from what I remember from live it should not be possible to actually miss a PA. 2) I seem to have hit bubbles with my PA style that absorbed the PA just like they would absorb a normal hit. Now again I according to what I remember from live a PA should always burst any bubble. Before I open an issue about these two things I would like to ask you for input on this: Is it livelike to miss a PA? Is it livelike that a bubble can absorb a PA? Thank you in advance! |

I'm not 100% on whether you can 'miss' a PA but I doubt it, it certainly however should pass through any bubble.

from what i recall:
1) No - You should not miss PA 2) No - PA should bypass all BT spells http://camelotherald.wikia.com/wiki/Patch_Notes:_Version_1.82 Critical Strike Style Changes Critical strike styles that require the attacker to be stealthed will now destroy any bladeturn spell. The attack will hit the target unhindered. (Note: Before this change, the critical strike style would simply bypass the bladeturn, and the bladeturn would still block the next style. With this change, the critical strike style will actually destroy the bladeturn, preventing it from blocking the next style following the critical strike.) Combat styles which require the attacker to be hidden will now only break through bladeturns when the combat style is executed successfully. |

Good find. This means, that only NS's will be able to stun casters, given: 1. The celtic dual sidestun is still in (discussion is, that the patch notes does say it should be removed for all but BM's, but it was not actually implemented at that patch level - right?) 2. The caster does not give you a chance to do an evade stun (swing his staff at you) Correct? Quick edit: Except for BS2 opener which has a three second stun. Uth1: Equade rr10 ranger, Fight rr7 sb, Sinwar rr6 thane
Genesis: Swift rr7 champ, Reaperinho rr6 vw, Sinwar rr5 eld Uth2: NS, VW and Eld |

so you cant CD stun a caster haha what a fuking joke

I have played sb for a bit, enough to test what I wanted to test. I am yet to miss a PA or be blocked by BT after popping PA.
CD lands without issue, unless there are positional issues and bugs etc. Based on what I have tried on SB and I did quite a lot, it seems that the CS styles work as intended. |

A guildmate just posted a Screenshot on discord where his PA got evaded. Anyone knows if this should pe possible?

It should be impossible to block, parry, evade or miss a stealth opener because of the requirement for setting up the hit in your own time. I'll see if i can dig up any proof.

hmm may have to retract that statement; cannot find any evidence that it was impossible to evade, parry or block a PA but there was a small chance:
This applies to missing vs mobs with BS http://camelotherald.wikia.com/wiki/Patch_Notes:_Version_1.34 Backstab Critical Strikes now will almost never miss, if fighting a target monster (green, blue, yellow), and will have a much higher chance of hitting a higher level mosnter than they previously did. but there was a similar discussion a few years back about the same thing: https://www.uthgard.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=15241&lang=de |

Probably he did not satisfy PA requirements (from front). If you fail to perform PA successfully and you still hit (unstyled), you get the message "You failed to perform Perforate Artery..." BUT If you fail to perform PA successfully and your unstyled hit is evaded (which it can be), then you simply get the message shown in the screenshot. PA and BS/BS2 can't be evaded/blocked/parried. “DAOC is not about what you can log. It's about what you can play :> ”

and where is the proof that it can't be blocked, parried or evaded?

And what about the 1.82 thing Borog posted... pa should pass bubble, but the bubble should still be there, so the after pa stun should hit the bubble.
Is this the way it is here, or does no stealther dare to make a bug report about this? ![]() This:
Sounds to me as if the post 1.82 mechanic is in place here (pa deleting the bubble), so not working as intended. ![]() |

if PA is removing BT im gona report just for the sake of it, id love to play an infil ( played slash infil old frontiers )
dont they want 1.65? then your CD ( 6 sec stun after PA ) should be absorbed by Bladeturn |

Watch old old video and u'll ses how it worked

If an stealth-opener like Perforate Artery should indeed bypass and destroy a casters bubble but it is not working like this on Uthgard please create a new issue with sufficient evidence.
