Hello!
I was just wondering if anyone could explain the basics of salvaging in 1.65. On live I never did much crafting beyond SCing and only did a bit of salvaging (to make and sell jeweled boxes or whatever they were called). If someone has a link to a guide, that would be great. Thanks! ![]() |

Basically you just need to level metalworking (or woodworking, clothworking depending on what you want to salvage) to be able to salvage items which return metals (swords, chain armor etc). THe higher metalwork, the higher level items you can salvage.
Once you get 800, you can salvage DF helms/swords to return a time worthy investment (people buy DF seals for 10-12gold, then buy the df items, salvage the item, make into boxes, then sell the boxes for a profit, rinse repeat). I cant remember the profit margins, but i think if you go over 12g per seal then it starts to not be worth the effort. |

Thanks a lot for the link. Played DAoC on and off for 10+ years but never did any crafting other than alchemy. <Bushido>

To sum up, the cheapest way is to start a Tailorer. Level up Tailoring to 950 While you do that, you can also level up Metalworking and Woodworking to ~300-350 with secondary reciepe (like bracket, hinge, breadbox, etc.). It's very cheap. Once you get the 300-350 in Metalworking and Woodworking. Then, you can start to level up other main skills : Fletching to 350 thx to cheap arrow Weponcrafting to 200-250, Armorcrafting to 100-150 (this numbers are linked to cost of reciepe) By doing this, you will level up Metalworking and Woodworking, up to 950 too and you will be able to salvage everything and enter the fabulous world of Dark Age of Trinket-a-lot. I'm no expert but the other link seemed a lot better as it looked to be cheaper to lvl the secondaries every 100 tailoring and level up using trinketing from 1-300 rather than later because of the quicker trinkets. <Bushido>

Well, my link says that for Metalworking and Woodworking, 0->350 has to be done by trinketing too. For 350 -> 950, it's cheaper to swithc on Fletching (350), Weponcrafting (200) and Armorcrafting (100) By doing this, you should reach 950 in Metalworking / Woodworking too. You can start at 400 if you want to be sure to reach higher level, but believe me, first reciepe of primary crafting are very cheap. Buying metal bar to do trinket is not expensive, but sell back is done with 50% loss if i remember correctly. RIP : Ectoplasme

Lets say i would want to make myself an Armor crafter as Main tradeskill.
Would it be easier (meaning cheeper) for me then to still follow this path of Tailoring? Tho i know that im not aible to get more then what, 400 skill? or how should i see this? |
