Hey everyone,

Long time alb player, first time hib player here. Looking to roll an eld and druid on release andwas wondering what the best strategy for getting me eld up there will be?

A.) Go full mana to 50, and stay mana till i can farm enough gold to template and re spec or

B.) Go mana to 40 and respec light/moon at this point and use the druid as money maker?

Neither Druid nor Eld are particularly good at farming gold compared to Enchanter / Animist.

Of your options, A is the better if your solo and not going Nature druid.

The druid will however have an easier time getting groups where you can get items to salvage or have a guild mate salvage. The druid will also have an easier time getting into raids to get high end items.

Personally, I am going to create an Animist, farm him up, build up my crafting and then use that to pay for or trade PLing for the character I really want to play.

I'll be about 6-8 days / played in before I really get to enjoy the fruits of my labor.

you could also spec full mana until 34 and then go full light (41 at lv50).

this dual spec provides you with the 2nd best pbae, which is decent for leveling and "okay" for keep def, and all the other tools that line has to offer (disease, str/con debuff) + 90% of what the light spec has to offer (yellow ae mezz and dex/quick debuff, purp nearsight [which is huge], and a strong base line nuke). the only downfall is, that you sacrifice the highest pbae plus the highest light spec nuke.

but if you play in a grp with an enchanter, the loss of the light spec nuke doesnt hurt so much, because you will assist him most of the time and use your base nuke anyways.

there are pro's and con's for every spec, this aint different..

What I am doing is by no way the common way of playing DAoC. I just don't ever want to worry about having enough gold to b-uy whatever I want whenever I want it. You can go 1 to 50 and have just enough gold to get a 99% SC'd temp on your Eld. On the Druid the armor cost more so you'd need to do some extra farming but its not required to have a farming character to SC out the druid.

If you for sure want to play both a Druid and an Eld and don't have a group to consistently run with. Don't worry about which you pick first just go with whichever one you think will hold your interest the longest.

From personal experience I say go with the Eld.

Full void. The bolt and AE dmg animations are just too cool :)
