I am a Midgardian Lowbie Armorcrafter and i have a problem regarding armorcrafting tasks. How can you do them if your master asks you to build chain? my tailoring is 75% of my armorcrafting and i can´t craft the leatherarmor needed for these tasks. Of course i could get them at the merchant near the lower forge, but then i lose money with the task. And the guy selling these kind of armor is on the other side of the town of my master.

How do you do these tasks? Any advice on how to get armorcrafting to a higher level with about 60silver in my pocket?

EDIT: And a second question. I crafted bronze stuff but wasn´t able to salvage that at level metallworking lvl 150. I rightclick the item, press salvage and it says: you don´t have the required skill. Shouldn´t i be able to salvage my self-crafted items?

for the second part; it could be that one of the materials used in the creation isnt high enough... i know i couldnt create shields without leatherworking... maybe that affects salvage too?

crafting tasks for armorcrafting are terrible for that very reason.

although when I did them, I wasn't actually losing money doing the chain tasks, I was just making very little.

There is a vendor in the main city that sells all the leather pieces needed to make the chain.

You do not lose money on the task.

You will get 33% profit per task for all pieces made. the reward for the task is based on buying the leather inserts/linings from a merchant. When youa re asked to make the starkakedja Helms/Legs/Chest at 550+ you are receiving ~40g for helm/legs and 55g for chest. The cost is only around 27g/40g. That's very nice profit considering each task only takes a few minutes to complete.

I love the chain tasks (aside from more profit) it means less runs to a merchant to restock on supplies.

Does that really work in Mid but not Alb? So far none of the merchant purchased armor has satisfied the armorcraft recipes for plate and chain (which is accurate to how I recall it working at < 1.65).

Yes, works fine on mid. I tasked from 1-650 without issue in mid.

I leveled it up to ~550 now and yeah, i was wrong about the cost and profit of chain-tasks. The profit is actually pretty big.
Today i will propably hit 600. I have searched the whole city and did not find a merchant selling higher leatherarmor then embossed. So how to continue once i hit 600 and get a adamantium chain-task or get a chain-order later?

This is happening to me too. The Albion merchant leather armor is not acceptable for the crafted chain or plate. The recipe may call for Cured leather gloves but the merchant sells Cured leather armor gloves (well, something like that, it's been a couple days) so the recipe will not take it. This means as an armorcrafter, we really can't do tasks.

Are you looking at the merchant near the fountain and not the one that is located under/near the marquee ? I had the very same problem, a person told me to look near the fountain => problem solved :)

Thanks! The merchant named "Kearis" had the right pieces; much appreciated!
