Hello Everyone!
Because of the fact that i highly appreciate the devs work in recreating this (for me) real daoc on a F2P server, i want to participate in make more people benefit from my experience here in Albion. First of all: I am an absolute casual player, playing 2-3 days a week for 1-3 hours, so I dont have the time and of course the determination to doing hardcore farming or hardcore money hetching. This is the way I figured out how i can easily solve my money problem, not (yet) existing but it will occur when its getting to equip your level 50 toons (in a future far far away ![]() My Main Character will be an Infi, but i started an Necro for obvious reasons. He is level 26 now, 800 Tailoring skill and sitting on 1,2 platin. All with casual Playing. 1. How to make money The money you make is because of salvaging the items you get, dropping from certain mobs. You kill mobs, get drops, salvage them, make trinkets, sell them and continuosly raising your Tailoring (and therefore) Salvaging secondarie skills. I startet crafting at level 15, when i had about 8 gold. I go to 300 tailoring i guess, and thats when the money train started. You have to bare in mind (as a necro), the reason you are killing mobs is not because of the exp, its for the drops. So chainpullig blue/green ones for good drops is better than going for yellow/oranges, especially if your salvaging skill is not high enough to salvage these items. So when i had 300 tailoring skill at level 17, i first went to Salisbury, to kill some giants. They drop pretty well. After that i went to avalon marsh, when you jump after the bridge and go right you will find a spot of mobs colled "quicksand", they drop good loot either. More to the north you find undead ghuls, dropping high rewarding plate and chain stuff (leveled and skilled there from 17-22). And again: You have your necro to get money, not exp. Everytime you have some money left (it will rais quickly now), you reinvest into tailoring and metalcrafting/woodworking. Guides to level that are all over the forum. Everyone saying, nah, crafting is SO boring. Well it is. But when running daoc in Window Mode, you can easily watch youtube while clicking a button once in a while. And it pays off. After level 22 i went to forest sauvage (Frontier). Go out the milegate and head North, until you fint the "GIANT" camps. There are LOADS of LOADS of mobs there, with decent drops and good exp. When hitting 24/25, you can kill forest hunters/stalkers in this area. Again: Chaining the blue/green Giants gives better money than fighitng one orange Forest Stalker. Be aware to die sometimes because of the RvR Inc. At level 26 you head to cornwall (your tailorig should be up to around 600 by now at least), where you kill cornwall hunters and moor boogeys(!!). They drop stuff you can salvage to mithril bars, which is about 1gold/bar. This is how I did it, maybe its not the fastest (some would suggest to start earlier with level 5 crafting) but it worked out for me and i wanted to share it. # 1Tipp: You should delete all drops except the ones you are salvaging: These are the drops you get money from. Everything else will just encumber you. #2 Tipp: Be a good guy. Necros are all over the place right now. Dont steal Mobs, dont steal Spots. What I am doing all the time is grping up with some low level poor buddy (AT Minstrels, Scouts etc) and help them leveling by joining my group. This leads to me getting fewer exp (So more drops/level) and helping the Realm to grow a bit. You should defenitely do that too. #3 Tipp: Before doing so, you have to l2p your necro well. Especially when grping with a low level (i always let ppl from 10-15 join me), you have to watch out for adds and get aggro as soon as possible, because your buddies will probably be 1 or 2 shots. But It helps to get to used to your necro. #4 Tipp: All you need as a Necro is Focus staff. All other stuff is nice to have, but the class is a PvE Powerhorse! I hope i could help all the desperate albs crying for money a little bit, if you have any questions feel free to answer or PM me. Great. Another thread asking people to be a necro. Lol

Albion needs about 100 less necros on it honestly. Please don't promote necro farm.

Necromancer is a good way to get money. What's the problem? Ppl want to play efficiently and necromancer is a very efficient way for getting money. That's how it was in 1.65 and that's how things are going.

You dont have to be a necro to do this. A lot of people dont know about salvaging

Ok Guys:
Ofc you can so this farming with ANY schar, I just shared my experiece how it can be done Time efficently. And for gods sake: Maybe ppl should stop telling otbers what to Play and not. This is a GAME,so ppl should Play what is fun for Them. "Do not Play a pala, you will not get a grp im rvr! You HAVE to go AT your Minstrel to Be competetive! You should reroll your caster, 15 int/10dex is not the Right startong stats". Let ppl Play and enjoy, back in 1.65 it was no high end Professional Game, Thats why so many enjoyed it. Dont try leut that Happen here. Hibenosa Legendary Alchemist and Infiltrator 50

Back in 1.65 it was the year 2002/2003. People played a lot (any PvP games, games in general) since then and the average skill in any competetive (PLAYER VS PLAYER) game exploded. So, either cry about "not having the real 1.65 with the real noobs" or fit to the "new 1.65, with the nowadays good players (knowledge, experience) who know what to do" Theres a reason why Midgard is the most populated realm on this Server&Patch. Theres a reason you wont find many Reavers on this server, although he was popular 14 years ago. Theres a reason you wont find RvR groups with a Wizard. Theres a reason ... People got more experienced. All of you/us. |

To the original poster thanks for the tips on salvage.
It never hurts to try and help. https://www.uthgard.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=37632
Players can greatly contribute to a server if you let them. Uthgard, still the best server. Thanks, Devs. |

Fair enough, but those reasons are dependent on how YOU wish to play the game. People can play casually or they can go with the cookie cutter mentality. Osher

The problem is we have too many of one class that is completely useless in RVR and never groups or helps anyone besides the person playing the necro. Albion doesn't need more people 50ing a necro only to farm and eventually main something useful months down the road. Midgard has every relic in the game. Roll a useful class. albion certainly doesnt need necros yeah but some people enjoy having a good farm toon then temp their lowies while xping and feel superior and maybe even make some rps in battlegrounds otw and then a few months later they maybe go into 50 rvr for some daoc is only that the way is the fun 50 rvr will also get stale fast |
|
Well thats what i was trying to suggest:
My Necro is just there to get some loot and money, therefor i have no problem in grping with other (lower levles), to help them getting levels fast. I get the loot, they get the good exp. If more necros would do it that way they will be far more accepted i guess, and helping their realm as well as gaining their money. Hibenosa Legendary Alchemist and Infiltrator 50

you say drop/money is more important than exp: but if you exp faster, you get higher levels, then you get better loot. so your aim shouldn't be get 50 as soon as possible to get best drops? then you can also PL people for money and your income increases even more.
by a broken lvl 17 infiltrator. |

The thing is if you raise your level too quickly you cannot salvage the loot that is dropping, and not yet have enough money to raise your tailoring skill.
Furthermore my aim in this game is to have fun, and i ahve more fun in grping up and helping some lower levels, than getting 50 as fast as possible. Write me ingame (hibenes) if you need some level 25 leather gear or want to grp up for a while! Hibenosa Legendary Alchemist and Infiltrator 50

Yea.. no Sorry there's still a lot of people who can't manage their classes in low or medium leveling, don't understand how aggro works, don't know anything about how melee damage works, power regen, using wrong buffs on wrong people, can't kite... seems to me that a huge majority of the casual players here are going to be free RP for said experienced players. |
