Official GM post(frontpage) : Camp claiming
In Dark Age of Camelot, no one can "claim" a camp. Anyone is free to move in and pull from the same spot you are sitting at. However, please be aware that it is not ok to engage with mobs that other players are already engaged with unless they request help. If realm mates arrive and wish to share a spot we hope that you will work to find a solution among yourselves that leads to success for all. If other players start harming monsters you have engaged, politely ask them to please stop. If the situation escalates to harassment, please contact a staff member. Remember, treat others as you would like them to treat you. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - As i read so many threads about this i feel that it would be good to have just one post with all the aspects presented, Clearly We all work for a common goal, and we all are in the same boat. This is the key for us in all situations as long as we play as Hib. And remember that we have new players in the realms of DAoC , be polite... even if it pains you, please be friendly <3 <3 <3 /bg status If the loot is set to normal, its all good. you are also capable to see the BG leader name if it has changed from status page. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - [BG-Guide] - ZERG - step by step guide to friendly grinding [PART 1] Bog of Cullen has one permanent Zerg spot, and it SHOULD be camped by ONE BG only. This BG will be the 1st FG+randoms arriving and setting up camp, this Zerg can be there for 24/7, especially now when the server capacity has been increased. This means it is the Zergs BG leaders job to find a replacement for the BG leader, if this fails, then usually a 2nd BG is formed and the 1st one is abandoned (ie. 1st BGs leader goes to sleep and just quits). In this situatation it is a good idea to just switch to the NEW BG if the 1st BGs leader is offline or unresponsive for a long time. Now when we have one BG @Zerg spot, we can dictate that everything is 100% perfect. [PART 2, When all is not Perfect] Variation example 1 : Level 50 grind group In the past lvl 50 group used AoE to just kill 100% of all mobs pulled to the zerg and in a nutshell they stole all the loot&gold. Now, if the BG leader asks them to stop, they either stop or the BG leader has an option to make an Appeal about them. Depending on the zergs capacity to farm the spot, i would suggest the BG leader to concider the gain and loss, and what the BG wants in general. => it is possible that if a FG of 45-50 players leave, that the zerg will wipe as it lacks enuff DPS. => in short => any group that uses AoE can not grind/farm in the zerg without being IN the zerg. AoE will basically break the engage rule stated by GMs. The only solution to this is friendly talk, i am sure the lvl 50 group could possibly trade all the sell loot to other 35=> players, as "rent" to use the zergs backbone to grind on the spot. As it would give gold for the zerg and faster experience. => and salvage would be the 50s reason being there in the end. => also misc items, pendants etc could be easily traded if someone really need those "not so good" drops. => but in the end 50s AoE mechanics makes it possible for the BG leader to appeal the 50s doing AoE in the zerg. => => This will probably lead to 50s not being in Bog public zerg anymore (unless PLing lowbies, check PART3 for no QQ solution) [PART 3] LvL 42*-50s PLing lowbies with AoE >> Best guide and solution for you => join the BG + get a Hero + get couple active healers << [PART 3.1] LvL 42-50s PLing lowbies with DD nuking => basically you will be a puller for the zerg, use one DD or one AoE spell to pull the mobs. => if you hit one time you will leech exp to your lowbie FG. => lure the mobs to the shroom zerg. => => [Free Tip 1] do not pull mobs that chain to casters, casters will agro as you are FG, and kill the lowbies in random order (not optimal for PLing). => => => [Free Tip 2] tell your lowbie healers, not to heal outside of group, it will agro the higher groups agros from casters and again you get snuffed out by them(not optimal). >> As you only use one spell to pull, it really does not matter if you are in the BG or outside of it (you will not get loot or gold, only leech exp, and the zergs idea is just that) << So in a nutshell, just join the BG ![]() My experience shared with all <3 love you all -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

Basically that. If people join the BG, at least the gold will be shared, which sould be the fairest possible solution. If there's a 50s group and they decide to randomly and partially share what they get as loot, that's cool as well, as many people there can always use one drop or another as level gear. Anyway, good effort to bring some order into the chaos. |

if you don't have a group with 40+ don't bother going
all the animists will be in one group and most mobs are destroyed before you can even target them and don't expect an invite if you are low level you will just make more exp in your local dungeon |

the Animist class has ruined this game PvE-wise.

This has pretty much been my experience with the CS zerg. No matter if I'm on a high lvl or a low lvl, the xp/loot just never seemed worth it to me unless I am in a guild group with a couple lvl 50's trying their hardest to get mobs. Although, i am not huge into the zerg gameplay so I haven't tried it to often but I've had much better experience just pveing the normal way and ignoring bog. Especially when my druid was in the 40's, even with high lvls in group and healing other tanks, the xp was subpar by a lot. I think most would do better to just pve normally unless you have some high lvl guildies that wanna go down together. Just my experience though. <Blood Feud>

Doing it 4 man, works really well. (for exp)
Or Animist+ment/bard for power+1-2 PL dudes or dudettes. ---- Also to note is, that Animist Arboreal specced pet can DD mobs while you are multitasking something else. I mean you could easily multitask and be soso there from level 35-50 (solo) @zerg spot. ( DD mainpet dmg is so high) Could perhaps work with enchanter dd pet also. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
