Yeah, felt that way in this guild. No problem with the normal members, just having no real leadership made it a lame experience. Felt like a noob starter guild, but with someone taking advantage of you. I rate this guild 4/10.

You can call me whatever you want - in the end this only shows your character and absolutely nothing about mine.

My experience of Reign as someone who is brand new to both Uthgard and mid.

Got to level 15 or so on my rm, decided to leave starter guild and I found Reign. I'd been on the server for a couple days, knew nobody at all. Talk to one of the officers and get an invite. Decide rm is getting shelved and roll a skald. Been playing him since. Try to talk to a few people in the guild through /gu, made small talk. Whatever. Finally get voice back from being sick so I hop in ts and get to know a few random people. Pretty cool dudes. Start talking to some of the officers that "all have it out for everyone and dont do anything for people unless you're inner circle". I'm about as outer circle as you can get. Pillager offers to craft me weapons, just bring him the mats, np. I bring mats, weapons made, back on my way. He invites me out to a zerg xp event that night, got a few levels, was fun. I was only level 6 at the time, so obviously I was put into the leftover group. I'm just happy im there. Wasn't even expecting an invite - like I said it was more for fun and a change of pace. Need a new weapon again, bring him back mats. This time though he gave me a bunch of stuff out of guild vault too because he said he'd seen me active. I've still not even had a full conversation with this guy that supposedly only helps his close friends and he's giving me money and gear to help me out. Definitely screams greedy arse right?

I knew nobody on the entire server when I joined, still really don't know a lot of people. But this guild has been nothing but nice to me, and gone out of their way to help me. So I honestly don't know where people are getting all this feces throwing from. I've had people in game I was duoing with asking if random things are true about the guild and they were so wildly ridiculous that its just funny to me as to how serious you people take this ******.

Meh--this is not how I envisioned my return to DAoC being. Decided to delete my second 40+ healer last night, going to attempt Alb or Hib (again), probably after a nice long break and playing CSGO for a while first. :gaga:

I found myself caught dead-center in the middle of this whole situation, more than anybody could even imagine (even Pillager.) Coming from someone who gave strong consideration to BOTH sides of this story AS IT played out, I can tell you all with 100% certainty that this has officially been blown wildly out of proportion.

Look, I'm all for calling players out when they've done something wrong. I personally cannot verify whether or not Pillager was "caught" doing something he wasn't supposed to be doing and has shifted course to do the right thing, NOR if Pillager has been trying to do the right thing this entire time and everything has been a big stupid misunderstanding/communication issue. REGARDLESS, since the "migration" of members, Pillager has been leading multiple guild events, we've got a solid guild house in a solid location, there are 0% guild taxes, etc. In other words, things have changed for the better (for those who decided to stick around.) For those of you who left you were/are not able to see these improvements.

But when you hijack a recruitment thread like this, name the new alliance what you have (for those who get it), and keep players IN Reign to convince others to leave, you eventually become worse than the person you're out to get.

As a parting member of this realm (and as a 32yo adult responding to hate posts on a freeshard message board...for a 15 year old game...on the internet...fml) I really have no reason to lie to you all. So here's the honest truth/Vman's overall assessment:
  1. It's a new server with new guilds and new alliances. Players are growing accustomed to playing with one another. Personalities clash and inevitably these shifts occur.
  2. Reign/Pillager takes care of its most committed guild members. If you're on more, if you level faster, if you're more active, if you're on TeamSpeak regularly, etc. you WILL be recognized. That isn't to say that if you're of the "casual" variety that they treat you like crap. I think it's just common sense that those who put forth the most effort reap the greatest rewards--good life lesson too.
  3. In situations such as this forum thread, there often is a bit of truth to both sides of the story. Pillager isn't Hitler, and Reign is a great guild. In fact, I'd argue that Reign is stronger than ever before. Guilds and their leaders/officers learn from these moments and often grow stronger amongst the players who decided to stay/come back.
  4. This guild aspired to be an 8v8/RvR focused guild, and unfortunately I think a lot of those who left mistakened it for some leveling/social guild. Hoping they've found a new home more suitable to their playstyles.
  5. It's difficult finding that balance of becoming a competitive 8v8 guild (tends to have more "serious"/"elite" players) versus a "fun"/social guild (tend to be more "casual"). I think a lot of players try to be both, but when you mix in with those on either extreme then the guild vision is blurred.

Take is from someone who is leaving and doesn't give a sh*t after I hit Submit here soon...remember that you're human adults. This is an old video game. It's intended to be fun and provide you joyful entertainment. It's free. Taking all of that into context, sometimes the most mature/difficult thing to do is agree that this relationship is working out and move on.

Move on people. Move on.

People really need to stop contributing to the cross-alliance hate, seriously.

This coming from someone who left the Reign alliance, and Pillager is still and will remain a friend of mine. I left the alliance to intentionally go to one a little more casual, as GM of my own guild I know my demeanor can often be brash and non PG-13. That alone is why I removed myself and our guild from this alliance- as I've found the Reign alliance to be helpful to new players and they do their best to accommodate all ranges of playstyles and level.

There really is no reason to try and publicly harangue people for their in-game actions.. leave the guild/alliance and move on. It's not a big deal fellas, don't burn so many bridges along the way.

Just my 2 cents.
