I wanted to make a bug report on this but don't quite have enough data as this is only my 2nd time encountering the issue in question. On 2 different occasions attempting to sprint away from a Cabalist pet, I noticed that not only was I not gaining ground but, the pet was infact gaining on me at a steady rate after having used an endurance regen potion to achieve a temporary endoless sprinting while also moving in a straight, unbroken line. Eventually the pet closed enough distance for me to be unable to escape regardless of how many potions i had. My HP should have been a non-issue as I was 100% HP for the beginning of the first encounter and around 85% HP on the 2nd.
I had a guildmate mention Enchanter pets also having this relentless sprint issue but I simply need more input from people and a reliable means of testing this.. I'm open to suggestions. |

I don't recall which patch level this was introduced so this may or may not be a bug depending on that, but there is a pet speed increase buff in the Cabalist Spirit line which could account for what you've experienced.

yea they have a speed buff but it should break when it is in combat

No it doesnt. If you encountered Cabalists with their pets and buffed movement speed buff, you wont escape the pet once it is stuck on you. Still, Cabalists can only use the pet movement speed buff if they run on caster speed (sorc, theurg, hastener) and are not sprinting, otherwise the pet is falling far behind while running. |

As he said. Cabalist Pet Movement buff does not break infight and this is no bug, it is how it was. Spirit Animation: 25 -> 120% movement speed 35 -> 140% 45 -> 160% Con: Minstrel movement speed does not overwrite the Pet buff or stack it up, therefore the pet wil loose ground while having the movement buff. Like this, permanent loops or lower group speed is needed. This may be the reason why you rarely see a Cabalist pet with movement buff (you also need at least 25 spirit for it ![]() Greetings |
