Press face right before your spell is about to finish and you should be good, it comes down to who times the los or los break better. It was always considered a slight annoyance just like circle strafing or the good old window dragging.
But so far it has been a pleasant 8v8/RvR experience noone ran through my casts and noone got circle strafed. It's just the nature of positional styles that makes any melee playing with both hands not just stick and click. DAoC 8v8 PoVs: https://www.youtube.com/user/MrLoreyn/videos

Do I like it? No.
Was I mad on day1 of DAoC that they didn't bother to put colliisons in, despite earlier MMOs having perfectly working Collision Detection?: Yes. The 150ms latency to Germany from US (or worse if the peering is acting up) makes it even more annoying here. I'm not even very good at it, but I'm perfectly capable of using it to make a standard "stick and swing" grey-ganker miss my L29 caster in crap armor 4 times in a row so my groupmates can gang up on him. It is what it is. Either go custom and turn collisions and pushthrough for endurance on (massively changing the entire game, though I think for the better), or deal with it. Casting runthrough/outofview is the most annoying. The melee stuff can be defended against pretty well with mouseturns, especially if you aren't trying to land your own back/side styles at the same time. |

If you weren't a noob, you'd simply hold for your face button down while someone is attempting to do that. I've never missed one quickcast

Daoc has such a low skill cap, these mechanics are one of the few you can be better than someone who can't do it. For me it's part of the game (except good old window dragging

Lol dude, just dont face and use your mouse. Better be glad that u can't properly strafe here like u could on live, i miss strafing a lot :/
