Is it against all logic to play a Firby bard? even if you add dex at creation? like the looks of a Firby but wondering how they do as bards?

If you're going to go battle bard, then I can see Firbolg as an option. But even then, I'd still probably go Celt myself. The extra strength just really can't compare to the dex you lose by going Firbolg.

The bard class with buffs and gear it won't make a difference.


If you do 10 char 15 dex you will be good.

This information is not correct. Any player can get RR10 if they play enough.

It is true that a firby bard won't be "gimped" (although a lot of people will say they are). In general though, there's two main reasons not to be firby:

-Worse starting stats. The lower dex won't be the end of the world, but it sucks

-Larger character model. I don't like being a large model when I'm usually the first target... although you could argue people would think you are a tank.



Ultimately, it's far more important how you play a bard, but all skills being the same, the celt will be marginally better than the firby.

I would not recommend firbolg unless you want a big arrow saying kill me above your head in rvr. Nothing like a massive character sporting a drum to help make identifying easy. If you solo I suppose it would make no difference though.

I have seen some really good firb bards over the decades. I think both may have been guild leaders. One was female firb lol.

They rocked. One would point out that being a firb, maybe you get tab targetted less.

Firbolg is not as bad as ppl think. 20dex is1% casting speed if you are fully buffed and sced.
