Post your Warden templates for Uthgard

Every Template should have following short hand information at the beginning of the post:

- Cheap / Normal / Expensive
- Full cap or not - are all important stats, resists, skills, hp, power, focus capped or are certain things missing
- MP, 99% or a mix
- Jewelery hard to get or easy to get - expensive or cheap

Optional:

- Mob/Merchant name and location for jewelery
- Moras file

Don't use this thread for discussion about the templates!

If you have suggestions for improvements contact the poster via pm.

If you notice false information on a template, contact the poster or me via pm!

Thank you!

Here's what I've come up with for my Warden. Definitely wasn't easy with all that a Warden needs.

Template is probably middling in cost seeing as how Scale armor is just expensive to craft.

Pros
+Str, emp, dex, qui capped
+Melee resists capped
+Heat and matter capped
+Most jewelry is easily obtained or farmed while leveling
+All 99% crafted, no MPs needed
+No wasted SC utility (every piece is 33.5)

Cons
-Missing 1 con and 20 hits
-Missing 4 Blades, 4 Regrowth, 11 Parry (yuck)
-One ring can be hard to obtain (drops from a named in Marfach)
-Body, cold, spirit resists missing 1 point
-Energy resist missing 2 points (I'm a Sylvan, so this one matters less to me [template does NOT include racials])

The template is alright I guess.

Difficult to do much better anyway. I am trying as well on my end but I cannot reach something better than yours.

Hey Rynzer,

- always cap hitpoints before resists. There are some resists that are way less important then other. Think of +hitpoints as +AllResists.
- you can easily calculate with MP shield, its a quiet cheap armor pice for 37.5 possible overcharged points.

EDIT: I updated the original template to a better one (switched out Revelin's Ring and gained some more heat resistance). This is still a 99% template. If you are looking for some high value MP templates, you can find them at the second page of this thread.

Hey,

wardens need lots of stats so it's not so easy to get perfect and cheap template. You have to cut here and there if you won't do a 30+ platin - rare drops - all MP - template. So i calculated a little bit and did a nice template, focusing on important stats.

Pros:
+ Capped Str / Con / Dex / Qui / Emp
+ Capped all resists (except heat)
+ Capped +11 Regrowth and +11 Blades (or +11 parry if you like)
+ No rare / dragon drops (4xDF, 2xQuest, 2xSH)
+ No Warshadow Bracer (expensive as hell)
+ All 99% but one craftet MP item (Shield, the cheapest one)
+ Overcharged every craftet item to 5.0 or 5.5 points

Cons:
- Missing some heat resits
- Missing parry
- Missing power

So because you can't cap everything i did not focus on heat resist, power and parry.

Missing heat resist:
A mistake i often see is that people tend to give different resis the same value. It may look way better if you got all of your resists between 24% and 26% but in terms of min/max templates you have to choose proper. For Hibernia the least important resist is heat resist, so don't sacrifice 2% slash and 2% cold to 4% heat, its not worth it. This resistance list is pretty accurate for Uthgard 2.0. As you can see, only a firewizz (and maybe some procs) will do heat dmg, so every other resist is more important.

Missing power:
Power is a very luxurious stat in every template because it's so damn expensive in terms of imbue points. +power caps at 26 ((Level/2)+1) and in most cases this is not even one good level 50 cast. Sadly it's really only +26 power and not +26% power, that would be another stroy.

Missing parry:
Didn't fit in a 99% template. If you do a all MP template you can get parry to +11. If you would like to have more parry in this template you can drop some +weapon / +regrowth skill and change them into +parry. Uthgard 2.0 is dominated by fotm midgard melee / zerker groups and i haven't seen a single fire mage in an 8v8 albion grp, so you can even go for +parry first (defense vs. ALL melee classes) before going +heat resists (defense vs. fire mages).

Based on those information above i did a 99% / 1 MP template. If you have some ideas for optimizing, let me know.

Good stuff Selinde

Might trade the items around so +Regrow is on weapon, then get a 2nd with +parry instead, for easy swapping.

Thank you mates. Your idea of switching stats on weapon is very good. Doing some templates for other classes right now, will optimize it after that. :)

I just noticed that the revelin's ring is not in the warden epic quest.

So it makes this ring very difficult to get for a warden right ?

Yes, my mistake. Did this template for a friend who already had this ring... so i was a little bit distracted. Sorry about this. The good news is, you can trade this ring from your twink / guild mate / market place to your char. Hint: Most druids don't use it because the DF Sapphire Ring has higher utility for them, i would ask them first. Sorry for the hard-to-get-item in this template now, will try to find a good replacement and post it afterwards.

Found already the best solution: If you trade "Revelins Ring" for a second "Exquisite Infernal Black Diamond Ring" (and rebuild the jewels) you will only lose 1% heat resists in the end, all other stats will stay at cap.

Some great work on templates in this thread. I had a few thoughts following Selinde's comment on heat resists.

1. How useful really is Quickness for a Warden? With access to the highest haste buff in the game, often it's possible to swing at cap speed even without much investment into that stat. It also won't affect parry (based on Dex) so seems a little bit redundant.

Feuille carried out tests to see how Qui affected his Valewalker. The results showed that cap level quickness actually reduces style damage to the point where the extra swings only compensate the lack of damage after around 30 seconds of hitting the same target.

2. Extra points into Nurture (assuming a Warden has specced 49 into that skill)? As Selinde seems to suggest in her template, my thoughts are in line with hers that this is not necessary as the benefits of going beyond 50 in this line are negligible. Still, I would like to know if there is any maths to back this up.

Assuming that it is possible to invest spellcraft imbue points into 'high priority' areas, I will be having a crack at making a 'weaponless' Warden template which will be expensive but serve as an investment to the future (when SI makes its appearance and Galladoria opens its gates). Once hearing your thoughts on the above I'll create it and post it here :)

Swingspeed cap is at 1.5 seconds, so depending how much quickness you have, you can choose your crafted weapon.

If we are celt, putting 0 points in quickness at character creation it should be:

    Base Quickness (Celt) = 60
    SC Quickness = Level*1.5 = 75
    Yellow Spec D/Q Buff = 76
    Wardens purple Attackspeedbuff = 38%

If i did math correctly this leads us to a swingspeed of:

    3.0 weapon = 1.50 seconds
    3.4 weapon = 1.50 seconds
    3.7 weapon = 1.60 seconds
    3.8 weapon = 1.64 seconds
    4.2 weapon = 1.81 seconds
    Weaponspeed Calculator

I agree with you: quickness counts more as a "luxurious" stat, but don't know it it's less worth than +nurture... maybe. Especial in RvR that could be the case.

Nurture is a useless stat to template, assuming a standard 45-49 nurt spec.
At low RR you'll want a swap weapon with enough to get you to composite 50, just for buffing.

38Nurt soloing wardens will want the full +11 on swap gear. Again, only for buffing. Which means spare boots/sheild to swap as well.

If you don't mind weaponswapping, put parry/blades on one, and reg/nurt on the other. Once your buffs cap without +nurt on your weapon, replace that one with a reg/parry version.

Quickness is important. The faster you can get snare swings in the better. Same with getting to repeat a reactionary several times before your enemy swings again.

And if I recall correctly, your weapon speed also determines the delay time in swapping from melee to heal mode.

I agree on that. No need for +nurture if nurture is already at 35 or higher (what it should be).
