Hello Fellow Hibernians!

I've finally succumbed, and have taken the plunge into Uthgard. I used to love the DaoC of old (Hearts of Fire on Hib) and am hoping this could be just as good :)

I've decided to try and main a Bard, something I've always fancied trying so i thought why not give it a go.

To that end, I'm currently looking for a guild that would like to welcome a new Bard into their ranks and maybe re-show me the ropes

Just because i had to give him a fair warning doesn't mean im one of thouse . It was made with good intentions .

But it gets really frustrating when you wait and wait and try to make a group and theres no one to make that group with and then wait some more and then log out .

Until you ve played a class with zero dmg and waited for a group for hours you cant understand this . Im still playing and enjoying the class @ max when i have a group .. but there are downsides .

And hibernia , for lvl 5-30, in my experience, these days, needs A LOT of melee dps .. blademasters nightshades rangers valewalkers heroes

What is "needed" is always going to be very situational so just play whatever you think you're going to enjoy the most. But I agree with Snowalker. I haven't had too difficult of a time finding a group with my Bard so far, but I also play with my brother. I would recommend picking a class that at least has the option to solo, but if you have your mind set on a Bard, have an alt in mind to play when groups are hard to come by.

Melee classes are definitely needed, but they can also be a pain to start with if it's your first character and you don't have any help since they are more reliant on gear than casters IMO. The drops are terrible and at level 10+ most of the tanks/melee that I grouped with (including my brother's BM) were still in low-level noob gear. My random groups have generally consisted of 1-2 melee (mostly heroes), 1-2 bards, 0-1 druids, the rest casters.

10 /whos over the last week at all different times of day..

Enchanter 898
Druid 895
Mentalist 800
Bard 686
Hero 589
Animist 477
Eldritch 471
Blade Master 445
Nightshade 389
Warden 362
Ranger 324
Vale Walker 236
Champion 117

So my answer to your question would be definitely not enchanter! We could use more bards and wardens.

From the linked post, I would add I keep a close eye on this, and these numbers remain largely consistent through about 5 more polls. Took the numbers from USA primetime, Eu primetime and various off hour times.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I cut and pasted my response to another post asking this question. I recently decided to reroll Alb, just because I found it harder to find groups on Hib. The only thing I would note regarding numbers above, is that lately I was seeing a higher number of rangers than usual when whoing.

Thanks for this info it's nice to see. As you can see the 6 melee classes are all played less than any caster/healer. Roll a melee of any sort!

I did not mean you. The naysayer was about 2 post above you, you know one of those drive by snide remarks and nothing else. Yours was a actually a good post with information in it.
