Procs for template armor

I am finally getting around to putting procs on my template armor and was hoping to get some opinions about which all of you prefer. It looks like there is a consensus on this forum about putting ablative procs on 4 of your armor but I have heard from some in game that they are underwhelmed by the ablatives. What are some opinions on this subject?

I can't see an argument for anything but an ablative and maybe 1 or 2 af procs. as an arms I hardly ever get trained and if there's a melee train on me they'll soak thru ablatives quickly so that's an argument for 6 of them, and that's what I run.

My advice is prolly not good for arms https://www.uthgard.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=37632
Players can greatly contribute to a server if you let them. Uthgard, still the best server. Thanks, Devs. |

The thing is, there's no other interesting reactive proc. DD and DoT have a tendency to break roots / snares, and damage on secondary targets will just be taken care of by spreadheals for pretty much free. AF isn't bad, but it's almost systematically better to have a second ablative proc'ing than an AF, so it generally come from charges (but it requires an alchemist to recharge them, it costs 40g, there are 7 charges on a qual 99% qual armor, 10 charges on a 100% qual armor). Having DD charges on equipped gloves or boots can also be pretty useful to interrupt, it's a popular choice.
I wouldn't bother getting AF charges on an Armsman. I'd choose 5 ablatives and 1 DD charge. |
