Avoidance of Magic should increase CC duration.
Test (in german) It got fixed with Patch 1.112

The history of AoM goes like this: - Full tier resist, reduces everything - 1.65, become secondary resists, still reduce everything, but are less effective - New Frontiers, becomes a completely different RA, only reducing damage ... <some random patch breaks secondary resists> ... - 1.112 , fixes said break Your test post is from 2007, so I don't think it's applicable to old frontiers AoM. |

any gm can comment on this? or is there any further research / evidence for this? considering getting AoM on my warden but not interested in picking it up if this is the case Ecati - 50 Cleric, Leg SCer - Deleted |

More like - Full tier resist, reduces everything - 1.65, secondary resists get introduced, AoM, EM and Baod now only reduce magic damage and no longer decrease CC duration - New Frontiers AoM = still secondary tier resist increase ... <some random patch breaks secondary resists> ... - 1.112 , fixes said break How secondary resists work was never changed so the test from 2007 still holds DAoC 8v8 PoVs: https://www.youtube.com/user/MrLoreyn/videos

Would love a good source for that, since the 1.65 patch note doesn't say anything about changing what types of things it reduces, and the discussion I have found around it has been pretty vague "it was nerfed" - well it was. |

Was/Am trying to find one as well, no luck in patch notes so far. Maybe they had a grab bag for that.

They do, but it only gives an example of how mathematically it works in an example of damage. |

Any proof available that secondary resists were broken later to increase cc duration? Maybe they did from the beginning. Probably one of the things that are impossible to research now because nobody tested it back then.

What would be nice to know is also how it is implemented at the moment here on Uthgard 2.0 so that we know what we are on.. then if further tests/researchs will bring changes, there will be patch notes..
So, how does it works here now? - Damage reduction of listed (exact) percentage - CC duration reduction of bit less of listed percentage (due to 2ndary tier) - NO change on the resist rates calcs Confirmed? There was a time when Uthgard 1.0 existed and maaaany toons and arrpees arose... but now:

1.65 was the BAoD nerf. It did not remove the effect of BAOD against CC, but instead (assuming full resists) roughly halved it.
Example, assuming BAOD is 40% -- which I dont remember exactly what it was: Pre 1.65: 26% item + 24% buff + 40% BAoD = 90% resistance to damage & cc Post 1.65: (1-(1 - (24%+26%) )*(1-.4)) = 70% resistance to damage & CC hence the 1.65 patch notes mention that BAoD/AoM pts were returned to players. You are confusing BAoD with Bedazzling Aura (see patch 1.108), which was limited to damage resistance, and did not affect CC Edit: Correction, Bedazzling Aura would have gone in in patch 1.70, with New Frontiers. Unfortunately the patch notes do not contain the descriptions, but instead direct you to the realm abilities page. Last edited by Jaerun on May 03, 2017 23:35, edited 1 time in total.

If AoM increased CC duration ..obviously its stupid and forget about it , you buy a RA to decrease dmg done by spels , if live ****** it up..why should we do it here aswell?:)) if it decreased CC duration i d understand the fuss ...but tbh ..i dont.

AoM still doesn't reduce CC duration, at least not for Albs on root and mez in duels with sorcs and theurgs, 100% fact. Can't imagine it's just a broken dueling mechanic. Probably just doesn't help Albs.
