-Create a new BG (just use Cathal Valley, or a Thidranki repeat) for levels 45-50.
-Put a real bindstone in the BG so people don't have to port back. -RP gains in this BG are increased by 3x -Claiming the center keep gives you an extra 50% bonus RPs (3.5x total) for your guild while in the BG. -Taking the center keep gives 50k RPs. -The RR cap for this BG is 5L0, then you get ported out on next login and can't go back. ??? It would give casuals no reason to complain about not being able to compete and no excuse to zerg Emain.

And after reaching rr5 the next char will be created and frontier rvr is more dead than nowadays

would it not be much easier to make an extra playground for the few wannabe 8v8 forum-professionals who can not handle more then one randomgrp and are also not clever enough to avoid them? |

then they try 8 or 16slot instead of zerg, get wiped by a organised 8men anyway and find their next excuse... yeah taht will help ![]() btw, zerg is fine, those who whine about it are even worse then the zergers who whine about 8men imbalanche.. Ololofeld - BD - Lyo/Mid

I can see the logic. But I don't think it's the exact answer. I think a BG at higher level would help. 44-49 RR cap of 4L0, maybe 4L5. Allow /xp off but not /rp off. Xp and rp rewards for centre keep. Also xp and rp for all other keeps. Defenders bonus and rewards. 15 minute DF timer.
This is just stuff rattling off my head that I truly, truly believe will aid the RvR situation. Zergs will still be a thing for those who love doing that. But there will also be other RvR options available to those who don't enjoy it. Lots of people say the zerg is fine, but it's all we have sometimes. And frankly, not everybody enjoys it. 8v8 arena would never work, there are probably only 2 or 3 groups that would use it at best. The highest RR players on this server didn't get there from 8v8. They just red=dead zerged everything into oblivion with broken mechanics. Would be nice if there was a way to bridge the gap between fresh RR1 level 50s and those dominating the frontier without having to result in enormous zergs. The zergs are super imbalanced too. Last night hib had a 4fg zerg plus 1 other group that were doing there own thing. So mid turns up with 6 maybe 7 full groups. That ruined RvR for the evening because hibs ending up porting somewhere else because it was too imbalanced to continue. These are issues that should be rectified with other incentives. this would just split the playerbase.
every server had a bg where people would /xp off /rp off idle forever essentially splitting the amount of people who rvr into two chunks that never meet each other. I don't see how this would save the server at all. yes, you talk about a rr cap rather than /rp off but as someone already mentioned, if people got kicked out at 5L and then get their asses kicked 24/7 in emain they would just reroll or stop playing at all. there's a reason people decide to stay in bgs instead of playing open rvr. allowing them to make it to 5L in a safe space won't change a lot because if they wanted to be out there, they would go at 1L. uth1 thidranki genesis leirvik ywain molvik (and to some extend CV) all of those bgs unnecessarily split up and decreased the amount of pvp players in each of the zones. on top of that, each little zone will be split up again into the different types of rvrers. zergs, 8mans, solo etc. |

You do make an interesting point. But, splitting up the amount of pvp players in each zone is not inherently a bad thing. Holding a large population is key to success, but having them all jam into 1 zone or all within the same level range isnt necessarily healthy - as can be seen by the decrease in server population right now. My mind’s made up, don’t confuse me with facts.

A casual player grouped with other casuals will never compete Vs a dedicated FG, is not only the supossed RR gap. Also the lack of time to play and to build up a solid pug (they're casuals) will drive them to merge into a zerg. anyways....is there a excuse needed to support some kind of rvr?? what is your excuse to play 8 Vs 8?? |

Both the numbers and the idea in general are quite bad in my opinion.
We need solutions that incentivise meaningful RvR in the frontier zones. Another BG will just make things worse beside the fact that the overall idea has nothing to do with classic DAoC gameplay or 1.65 in particular. Tree - Animist Lvl 50 (RR 3L0, Legendary Tailor)

That's why this server doesn't work how we expected. 1.65 was fun in it's day because most people just plain sucked at the game. Going back into the past with the present knowledge is like if human adults stop eating solid food and go back to suckling the teat of yo' mumma. It was great when you were a baby, so surely its just as good now? Nope. My mind’s made up, don’t confuse me with facts.

Except that is not entirely true. In 2017 there are some things about 1.65 that dont work out well, but that doesnt mean the overall gameplay and feeling of this patchlevel is bad. Implementing another BG with these parameters will fundamentally change the way you experience the game and will have nothing to do with the classic DAoC experience most people came here for.
