Havent play DAoC for a while so I'm asking the current players for advice.

Man 'o man...forget what a pain it was to even level up to 5.
Fresh and naked...not good. Couldn't even find the Theurg trainer in Camelot before the server reboot. Like some of the nice new features...the speed buff guy next to the auction guy.

Anyho...back to topic...

What is a good PvE class that can solo well? Doesn't seem like alot of ppl online to consistantly get into a group. I tried all 3 major cities last night and only saw 1 person. Want a class that can still level/farm by him/her self. Open to suggestions for any of the 3 realms.

Thanks in advance... :)

Well; in my opinion, it depends on what kind of class you want to play. I haven't tried a caster here yet, but they seem to manage themselves pretty well. After talking to a few low-level hybrids in Hibernia, though, I would highly suggest staying away from hybrids. You said solo, so most healer-types are out of the question... Maybe a warden, or skald, but other then that, stay away from them. As a Hibernian, shield hero seems good for leveling, I would say most fighter-types in Hibernia are good. Outside of Hibernia, the only fighter-type I've played is Thane of Midgard.

I've played almost all the classes before but that was YEARS ago...actually from day 1 to about 6 months into SI.

But with all the expansions and class balancing updates...wasn't sure how the classes stand atm.

I enjoyed playing non-melee classes. Either mage or healers. Dont think a pure healer will do well by themselves (shammy, friar, warden prolly okay).

I know its kind of a subjective question but hopefully you all can help jog my memory on DAoC.

I used to consider myself a very experienced DAoC player. You the old saying...Once you learn to ride a bike......uh...no...I kept falling over yesterday. Forgot that mages get interrupted when a fly lands on them.

The classes I was messing with last night was...
Alb : Mage, Elementalist (Theurg & Wiz)
Hib : Magician (Enchanter), Naturalist
Mid : Seer

Well; to start off... Class balancing really doesn't affect us too much here on Uthgard. The setup here is somewhat different from Live servers. Your question calls for a solo class, and unfortunately, the classes you listed, are mainly group-based players. As a Hibernian, I hope the call of the green leaves of Hibernia will call you to aid our fight. If you do join Hibernia, make use of the DoH (Defenders of Hibernia) /gu chat. Not to mention broadcast /br. There is always a brother of the tree waiting to assist you.

I tried the Hibbies 1st and didn't noticed that I was automatically part to the guild so didn't do /gu.

Also there were only ~80 ppl online & only 11 hibbies (All 40+).
Didn't feel like bothering anyone until I give it a shot myself first.

I prefer to play in a group but looking at the server pop, I figure it should be a class I can do something on my own.

Right now, torn between nukers & secondary healers. Chars I have experience with was build for grouping and that is my play style. So I really don't have any experience soloing and trying to xp and farm cash by myself.

Side Question...Can someone tell me the skin/expansion this picture is?
The one I have right now is the Atlantis expansion (don't care for it).

Well; I'm a 16 Hero right now. Most players on Hibernia is later at night.

That skin can be found here.

Edit:

That's Ghost UI - originally found here but it had been discontinued for a while. The latest version now resides here.
Happy hunting!

If you want a nuker type capable of soloing, check out the cabalist. They can sacrifice their pets for mana, and lifetap to get their health back, so their downtime is fairly manageable.

My body sorc solos pretty well too; I have no issues at all beyond the inherent boredom of soloing.

Although pets aren't fully implented yet a mana enchanter makes a good solo class. Just focus pull blues/yellows and when they're at 75% you pbaoe them.
Only downside is the downtime.
