Albs Hibs and the teamattack on Mid-Relics
|
you absolutely right, we did not do anything but killed some albs and hibs and then got relic for free. donation or no donations, we don't care. population balance will keep rotating forever and at some point we would get it back anyway. and you ARE whining. save your energy and go hit albs. see you on the battlefield. |

It was wise to let the sixth relic go. Good idea on your part to do that. That explains a lot.

It's pretty simple.
If Hib has 3x Pow or Mid has 3x Str then you will likely be ganged up on. Each of your realms becomes a major pain in the ass to fight when your defining damage types get such a boost. I'm sure Alb is a pain too, but we sit more as a jack of all realm instead of mostly melee or mostly magic. Nobody needs to communicate this over third party tools. You just type /relic, look at Hib with 3x Pow relics and you start hearing the sound of gunfire and helicopters, you smell the smoke and hear the screams, you remember your battle buddy being incinerated moments after the heat debuff hits his body, your Cleric desperately slamming insta heals in vain while you filthy Treesexuals incinerate our comrades and erect Shroomforts wherever you damn well can. That was hilarious. Thank you for the comedy relief. ![]() Constantyne

Abydos, is there a plan to stop the RP inflation? I don't disagree with the sentiment behind any of the changes made - RP's for keeps, bonus RP's for relics -- but I'm just curious if you have a sense that the RP additions are close to being done, or if you think there's a lot more work to do? trademark a livelike feature is not 'rp inflation'. Players earn RP over time. That cannot be stopped. Those who work to earn more over time will have more, and there is already a mechanism in place to slow down RR progression. RPs for kills of lower RR do not offer as many RP. This means that you will rank up faster attacking equal or higher ranks. As you approach the top of the pack, your progress slows down due to ever increasing curve as well as reduced rewards due to the difference in rank.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I wasn't referring to people getting more RPs over time; I was referring to new mechanisms of RPs being introduced to Uthgard. I don't know what 1.65's state of RPs was like, but I get the sense, based on the tweaking of 8-man vs 16-man for "max" RPs on a keep, that the guiding principles are not what 1.65 was like, but rather what is best for the game (which I think is a wise decision).
Keep takes didn't give RPs on day one, for example (Edit: it occurs to me now that this may be incorrect, as it's based on personal experience and I'm not positive I was 40 when I was first involved in a keep take... pardon me if this is incorrect). Assuming that's true, it's easier to get 10,000 RP's than it was when Uthgard started. Apparently holding relics now gives bonus RPs, further increasing how easy it is to get 10,000 RP's. That's what I mean by RP inflation. So my question is more aimed at that -- are there plans to introduce further mechanisms to generating RPs, whether it by increasing the RPs for keeps, or adding a Defended Keep bonus, or otherwise? Or is the sense that things are about 'good' right now? Alainna

The GMs have bent over backwards at this point they cannot rp ur toon up. You want more rps take more keeps, kill more enemies, skill up/practice and run with less players and you will earn more rps. You can make a lot in a short time the way the server is now, by what im seeing the reason rps are low and you arent catching the high rrs is bc u zerg. Split 8 mid rps between the quickest reflexed players in ur 32+ u run with. Low rr is ur excuse, fine... i died a lot and played poorly as well. But relearned the patch quickly and started whooping the rr5+ hibs/albs when i was level 47 and wearing grey con cloth armor in 4 slots cuz i gave no **cks. <-this is 100% true. Man up !

Based on your response, Romps, I'd guess that you are interpreting my post to suggest that I think they should increase the RPs even further. I do not. I just want to know where the GM's think they are. IMHO, RP's are given out too freely as it is. 2k for an undefended keep seems excessive to me. But it gets more players into the frontier, so I'm not going to complain about it.

2k for a level 8+ ranked keep is not too much. It's about right I'd say. You can gain that in 1-2 8 man fights in 2 minutes. A 8+ ranked keep takes awhile and is a lot of effort, and often needs 2 fg. It's not a small quick job to take such a high level keep.

I was one of those dead Albions laying there. We were laying on the ground because the group that wiped us out (quite efficiently I might add--it took them mere seconds) immediately ran off at a high rate of speed without noticing the relic laying there, much to our amazement. We were sort of sitting around there hoping someone would come by and notice our corpse pile and take a closer look. Someone did--you, apparently. Neat to read your perspective! There was a fair amount of internal dissent (arguments, really) about delivering a relic to an enemy realm. I took no part in that discussion one way or the other (beyond my pay grade). That dissent, in the days since, has wholly died down, maybe because people have witnessed firsthand the difficulty involved in holding onto five relics, let alone all six. Albion frontiers have been practically a no-man's land lately to say the least. |
