It probably wasn't Genesis' intention to be honest, but rather a by product of incorrect code is the DOL source. Nevertheless, it is/was a pretty nice way to get people together :)

Use stuff you can afford. Market Explorer is AMAZING - Do your epics, the ring and cloak are very high in UV for a template. If you aren't high enough yet to solo a step, wait a few levels until you are and just wear some cheapy cloak or ring as a place holder or find someone to help.

Cheapskate cleric template, and somehow it has +11 rejuv and +7 enhance with just 1 diamond piece and 1 sapphire piece, AND you have a glowy hammer to boot..

4 piece of 99% Chain: 2-3p
2 piece of 100% studded = 400-500g
DM Hammer - 100-300g
99% Shield - 50g

2 piece of your Epic jewlery - free - just your time and u get xp for doing it.
1 piece of diamond jewlery - 17 diamonds
1 piece of sapphire - 25 sapphire

2x Stonewatch bracers - like 100g each on vendor (just sold like 10 to vendor from my DM run)

I was part of the Genesis team. It was done on purpose to encourage grouping.

BTW, The Origins server has been down for over a month and today I noticed that the forums are also down. Very little work has been done over there in the last six months. It seems their staff is just letting it die.

sure , you might have been on the team , but i suspect you didn't do anything code related :wink:

This incorrect method of giving group bonus has been in the DOL core long before genesis and is still in there today if you download the latest revision

The reason why Uthgard does not have the wrong group bonus implementation is that it was investigated at some point how it really works on live servers. If I remember right no DOL server has ever properly implemented BAF which triggers the group bonus. BAF can go to quite high XP bonuses as it gives +20% XP bonus for each incoming mob up to 4 (stacks to +80% XP). After that each additionally linked mob gives additional +10% XP bonus to the overall XP. So its getting quite into extreme if used properly.

If I recall correctly, the way group bonuses worked on Genesis (back in 2014, I left the team after that so cant say if it stayed that way), for each member added to a group or BG, we gained more XP / kill up to a maximum of 12 members. Going beyond 12 we got less XP / kill but were probably killing faster. So, 12+1 was the same XP as 12-1, ie: 13 was the same as 11, 14 the same as 10, 15 the same as 9, and 16 the same as 8.

This allowed full groups to level fast and also supported power leveling. If a group had seven members, they would typically take ANY class as the eighth because of the bonus! Typically, no classes were left behind during the leveling process.

back to the cancer

I have not played for a couple days to give myself a break to help my carpal tunnel out.

But i have logged in about 8x and asked in camelot or in alliance chat for someone to put a proc on for me and i have the proc.

You can't buy items, you can't put them on. I ****** u not.

If you want to equip your toons? Make a crafter because they are not available period.

I am dead ass broke having bought all my items off the cm at retail prices.

Also, i walked to each place in housing and did not pay the extra 20% and 90% of the time out in bum ****** egypt there was no teleporter back and you can't enter the house of the place u buy from.

BTW, I'm hooked up with sc friends and lvl 50 friends, etc.

You can't buy the items and you can't put them on?

All you need is the item, the proc, and an Alchemist with like 800 skill.

sounds like he does have the item and proc but cant find an alch to combine for him. I had this problem too about 3-4 months ago on mid, no crafters would reply to me, i ended up feeding money into a RL friend who likes crafting and waiting for him to skill up.

lol @ the housing CM thing, it really sh*ts me when i spend a plat at someones merchant in the boondocks, but can't enter their home to get back to civilisation :grin:

Maybe we need 50% speed increase and 50% cost decrease on crafting. Or increase success by 50% or something.

One of my guildmates spent literally 2 days of their time trying to get an mp leather chest.

i disagree - it would devalue the crafting ranks others have already achieved by a large margin.
i DO think however that daoc crafting is generally ****** up. tedious, zero fun BS.

Crafting is nerver fun. The fun comes from the profits you are making.
Hope GMs are fine with what they have stated, that they are fine with just 80 people (300ppl was Trishin Statement long time ago) playing the game under their vision.
Its important to leave this server running doesn't matter how low the numbers will be. The other servers can fail but Uthgard still will be there, thats Uthgards only chance.

Edit 19/09/21: Well Uthgards chance has come.

You do have a 50% decrease cost automatically. Its called a Necromancer, what other easy mode do you need in Albion.... You can tell you're an Albion when not even a Necromancer appeals your needs. You're probably part of the "Cancer"

You do have a 50% decrease cost automatically. Its called a Necromancer, what other easy mode do you need in Albion.... You can tell you're an Albion when not even a Necromancer appeals your needs. You're probably part of the "Cancer"


cool it, brother.
i understand alb having necros seems like cheating and leads to a lot of salt. still necros create lots of issues economywise. ESPECIALLY for those (like me btw...and i think rel as well) who DONT wanna play this brainless farming machine. our housing prices are absolutely through the roof for instance. your point of crafting cost being somewhat easier to bear for albs in general stands and i agree with that....but dont make the mistake of thinking that every single alb out there has a 50 necro farming away all day long...because thats definately not the case. that said..altho rel is quite a whiny mofo on the forums, ingame hes one of the nicer players ive met so far and definately helps creating a friendly atmosphere.


tldr: dont be mad, its a game after all.
