You got the answer to your question, I think. What you did was nice, but don't expect anyone to pass up killing you for rp's... especially when the population is what it is and everyone is hungry for them.

You could have done them a different favor... given them PVP deaths instead of the PVE ones they were going to get, so that they didn't have to buy back their con when they released.

Well, sorry Gil, i have to disagree in this point.
I have always enjoyed these moments when you play Daoc in a "non intented" way,- thinking out of the box, apart from the "red is dead" mentality.

Two weeks ago, i was solo with my Bard in Murdaigean and a Grp. of 4 Albs tryed to raid the Mid owned CK, but had some problems with the fast guard repop.
I watched the scenario from a save distance on the other side of the shore, and ofc they saw me while pulling guards,- always an eye on me what i may do.
There was not much i could do alone, so i decided to go in emote range and /hug spam the 4 albs to show my intention of peace
I floated over to the CK shore, awaiting the insta dead, but in the end of story, they let me help them.. Communication was all about /hug, /cheers and /charge and we had a great few minutes,- even it was not a realmmate, but actually players who play the same game.

Remember my Behemoth Event back in the days?
This event would never have been successful if the players had played the Daoc the way it was intended.
And to be honest, it was one of the greatest moments in my Daoc history when 120 Albs, 80 Mids and 50 Hibs arrived on the plateau over the Hulk spot,- everyone finger crossed, in the hope no one is going mad and push "accidentally" the AE button :)

These Moments, the small and the big ones makes Daoc so unique and special,- and always reminds me, that im not only playing with 1/3 of the server population. Mostly against,-sometimes with them.. But 100% together.

All playstyles in this game should be respected. If people dont you have to live with it. If u ask i will always pull out if albs add a straight 8v8 or go for the adding grp, for example we fight mids and hibs add. If mids turn on hibs, i would prefer my grp does that aswell.

If people want to zerg, let them do it, if they want to solo, let them do it, if they want to 8v8, let them do it. You can not force anybody to follow ur own playstyle. So all chill.
You guys have to live with it ;)

I do remember quite well the Behemoth event! It was great fun. I was there with Gill, my Mid zerker. I also remember that as soon as Behemoth went Down we killed the other realm players. That was good fun. We never did get the promised titles.
