I'm not quite sure what Blue meant, but anyway...

Do me a favor and do the following things for me...

Start > Run > DXDIAG

In your Display or Display 1 tab, Tell me what DirectX Features are enabled.

Nah; I'm positive now. It's your bandwidth. Let me explain a bit on how DAoC Client / DoL Server relates.

Once in the game, if you're constantly doing things, opening your inventory, training, walking around, killing stuff, you're constantly sending and recieving packets. However, if you're AFK; as you said you were; all you're doing is sending what we call "Keep-Alive" packets. This is a very small packet that you send to do exactly what it says, keeps your connection active to the server. In that case, the only packets you really have coming in are related to your keep-alive, chat message, other players movements (within your visible range), so on so forth.

Your bandwidth is clamped somewhere, whether it be on your local network, or in your internet pipeline, it's clamped.

Look into getting a better connection... Sorry I cannot help more.

That seems to be what happens. I went afk again, came back, moved, LD.

I dont see why this has just started happening thought, I have been playing since march with nearly no problems

It is kind of weird... Might ask others on your network if they're downloading/torrenting anything...

It might even come down to your ISP having some bandwidth problems... That's doubtful though.

Ok well, it costs £5 more a month to upgrade from 1gb/s to 8gb/s, both with a 15 gb download limit.

The download limit dosent have anything to do with it does it?

Is bandwidth speed, and does speed = bigger bandwidth? Thanks

And by gb/s I mean mb/s

Wikipedia wrote:In computer networking literature, digital bandwidth often refers to data rate measured in bit/s, for example channel capacity (digital bandwidth capacity) or throughput (digital bandwidth consumption). The reason for this usage is that the channel capacity in bit/s is proportional to the analogue bandwidth in hertz according to Hartley's law.

Well theres a limit, but it dosent stop you from downloading over the limit, you just have to pay.
