It says in their own chat logs that they can hit the shrooms with pbaoe.....

What that actually saying is that the pets need line of sight to hit. Has nothing todo with shrooms beeing placed with a groundtarget.

Right, but...the shrooms are taking like 1/10th of the dmg they should be taking from the pbae

1/10 the damage at 150-200? i've never come close to hitting someone for 1500-2000 with PBAE.

Maybe I'm not understanding what the exploit is. the shrooms are there, visible in front of the troll, and within melee range. If they can't be hit, it sounds like a bug, not an exploit. (Yes, I understand that knowingly taking advantage of a bug is exploiting).
There is no "fine art to gtae placement, you wrestle with it untill you get something that works, i don't really understand how you expect an animist to know whether their pets are hittable or bugged. Do they have to wait untill someone kills a shroom to know if the spot is legal or not? what if someone range nukes the shroom?

Can you at least explain what the "legal way to cast on walls" is?

There actually is a fine art to GT placement.

I've been warned by Abydos for this once during relic defense (and haven't done it since). I first saw other animists at the relic keep having their ground targets in the air which would let you cast shrooms without having to physically look over the walls of the keep. I have no idea if this is how it supposed work, but it seemed like a smart idea to me.

As it was explained to me, the problem is a that when a ground target is set way up in the air, the server is mistakingly recognizing the shroom as being in the air still (not where the shroom is "falling" to). So you start getting LOS/range problems, and pbaoe doing minimal damage because the server thinks the shroom is up above.

It's true that some animists don't know what they are doing. But I've talked to others that know it is glitchy and they do it anyway.

That being said, I can get ground targets on keep walls (including the lord walls) where the gt is actually on the wall and barely visible to me, so it is not way up in the air which means it is attackable just fine as far as I know. Never been warned for it so I just assume it is okay.

The shrooms in the pictures are not on the walls, but instead, that ground target being used is actually up in the air which is causing the problems.

Are Spiritmaster and Theurgist pets restricted from entering and/or leaving a keep that has closed doors!?
LoS pathing exploits should also be in question here.
Looking for realm balance on the issue.

That goes for all pets (try have two red minstrel pets charge through the gate and twopop you as a caster) and yes it would be lovely not to have this issue with pets of either realm able to run inside door their owners cant bypass.

But I guess now we begin to see from the developers point of view why they dont really change any of the class bugs or imballances, if they fix one all the others will scream for their turn next. Just like if they opened the floodgates on Quality of life changes "We want X now, and Y! and Z!" :gaga:

Btw I had two druid pets stunlocking me yesterday evening in a fight, same fight where my SM pet had a stunproc on a celt and my warrior-guildie couldnt shieldslam him because of the immunity my pet dished out when the pet was just sent to interrupt casts.

any chance you can fix the animist bugs while you are it...

https://www2.uthgard.net/tracker/issue/ ... ing_(again).
OR
https://www2.uthgard.net/tracker/issue/ ... op_casting

https://www2.uthgard.net/tracker/issue/ ... ellcasting.

https://www2.uthgard.net/tracker/issue/ ... _unstealth.

https://www2.uthgard.net/tracker/issue/ ... pet_level_

Regarding this issue, better you just fix it so if the shroom is in the air, you drop it to the floor? It appears that way so why is it not working that way (and is it the animists fault that your code is wrong)?

How does this work on live? Is there any evidence it did not work this way back in 1.65? Unless proof can be found that things did not work this way back in 1.65 nothing should be changed. This is the the same criteria that is applied to every other perceived issue.

Rule of thumb, does it affect a GM playing his zerker?

Yes - Then it's an exploit - FIX IT - Fix it good - Fix it now!!!!111! And ban, yeh ban anyone "abusing" it.

No - Well who cares then. Spam the usual evidence needed line. If some mug does the work, then sit on it for a further few months (cough *Tundra*, Mentalist charm, Animist class issues). We'll get to it one day when all our zerks/savages are RR13, jajaja lolz.

well, what about the prevent flight bug? If all GMs play midzerkers, that would be the first thing I would fix, right after the ichor bug that is.

Bombling you are the VERY LAST player who should comment on Exploiting Los bugs! You nuke people thru doors in every keep fight you are in!

Abydos - Take care of PBAOE exploits as well please!
