Launcher linux support?

Has anyone played around with this recently? Wine 2.4 is suppose to include a mono engine update - I'm wondering if that has helped.
I've setup VMWorkstation for playing this on linux and it works well for crafting or PvE leveling - frame rate too unpredictable for RvR. |

I haven't tried in a while. I doubt it would work though unless the mono engine update was more fully featured? |

Can we get the DOL portal app added to the list of allowed login methods?

I tried with Wine 3.0 in x86 version but didn't manage, however I'm not sure I know what would be the right procedure to actually call my Wine prefix when clicking on the Play button. In the end, I reverted to using a Virtualbox VM (see posts here) and it works decently enough (including solo RVR), but is still a waste of disk space, resources, and is not practical.
If anyone more experienced could post the exact steps to try the launcher with different Wine versions, and what to install in this prefix, I could try again. [Mid] Koubiak, Krafilnaavith

For me, the launcher open but sends the error "Updater was unable to connect to utghard. Error:TrustFailure ( The autentication or decryption has failed ) i supouse that this is error with wine mono. For make it work to here, i've installed play on linux, then, i've downloaded the wine 3.2 via play on linux and installed the next complements: Mono2.10, vcrun2005, 2008, 2010 and 2012 ( Some of them are not necessary, the 2012, i think, but i've installed for other games ) with this, show me that common windows error... But nothing more, the debug don't help me, but i think that can i fix this... If i can, i'll tell how i did it - but it can somebody help, i'll thank him ( And again, sorry for the bad english xD ) |

Did you make any progress Lukaz? I'd be very interested, and probably many people would because Issue #0007 is currently the third issue in terms of votes, has been confirmed long ago, but hasn't managed to get love.

Thats so annoying. I want to come back to Uthgard, but i have no native windows maschines anymore. Windows only, seriously, who could think up such a nonsense?

We are still talking about small numbers, but I can add another one to the list. It's frustrating when you find a way to recontact an old friend from 2003, realize he didn't know about Uthgard and is eager to play, to finally hear he tried but can't run the game because he is not using Windows and the launcher does not work with Wine.
I told him to use a VM, but that's a significant dealbreaker for several good reasons, and he tried anyway but his computer cannot take it. [Mid] Koubiak, Krafilnaavith
