As a certified hand holding Alb, I actually enjoy the banter that goes on in these zerg bgs.
I came back to daoc not to be the elitist little ****** I used to be back when I had no worries about life other than college. 10 years later, I have a house and job to keep, so my playtime is limited to maybe a couple of hours, normally just an hour, 5 days out of the week. I spend that hour on my necro with lowbies or maybe on the cleric if they are desperate, but I have to go do RL stuff, so bgs are great for me. Its the SOCIAL aspect, the MM part of mmorpgs, if I wanted to go kill stuff without communicating with other players I'd go play Cs or something Wakefield 50 Rej Cleric

Well you read almost every post but i'm not sure you comprehended any of it. The OP is a mid so if anything the relics hib have are another detriment to his low RR group. |
|
You seem to be quite angry/hostile towards alot of 8v8 folks while calling yourself one. Your guild has done 50k the last two weeks and your highest RR toon is your rr 2L2 healer? I can see why you say RPs are meaningless when you never actually get any. |

Not sure what skill level on Live/Uthgard has to do with "Current problematic state of Uthgard RvR".
I came from Live, and the "good" players had left around 2007, after that it was the "second-rate" players who were left (I include myself here, because I am able to see when I'm outmatched on skills and not imbalance). The good groups here, would also be good on Live, trust me. From an objective pow, it seems to boil down to either/some/all of: - 8 mans ruining group based RvR by "enforcing" rules on people trying it out, and shaming them if they don't do it right. - BG's ruining RvR by zerging down keeps, and every group they can find, and logging out the second they meet matched oposition. - Lack of people doing RvR, be it due to population, cowardice, culture, or just people playing a RvR game without the intention of ever doing RvR. - Realm imbalance, driving away one/two realms, be it due to skill (actual being better player)/class difference/realm design issues/population. - Lack of respect for your playstyle. People calling 8 mans elitist/egocentric, 8 mans calling "zerglings" cowards, etc etc... Albion and having fun

That's just how people are Spivo, if you don't play like them, you're trash.
You can find that in any type of game but especially here. |

my post meant to reply Llaw. scratch OP from there. he wrote most in the post and i thought it was his. also my reply is about Hibs, there is not a single word about mids. so i guess you can't comprehend a small mistake. |

Don't actually think it's that bad. Internet has just taught people that if you want to hammer home a point, you need to do it in big words. Pretty sure most of them would be quite nice people if you got in disco with them, or met them in real life. So you can't just say: "I think 8 mans would help the server if they accepted fighting at number disadvantage, and/or accepted people they've never played with into their groups". It has to be: "8 man guilds ruin Uthgard with their selfish/elitist attitude". No. 2 makes a very strong statement, "8 mans are bad", but leaves no room for a discussion. No. 1 lets people know you think 8 man guilds don't live up to the resonsibility for all players, to help make RvR more fun for all. But it still leaves room for a discussion. It might not amount to anything productive, but no. 2 completely shuts the option down. Albion and having fun

Llaw been on Hib for almost a year, can't really call him a relic jumper, he actually went hib when it was the least populated realm and left Mid while they completely dominated Uthgard. And for all the things I think he's rude/wrong about, one thing you can not call him is a bad player. His guild/pug makes people dizzy on Uthgard, and would do the same on Live. But being a good player, does not make you right (or wrong). Albion and having fun

You got me there, son. Ass = Blasted. Siege - Warrior

My abrasive personality and comments may be perceived as rude, but it is never my intent. When I say that the average Alb is a "coward", I mean that they are so afraid of losing that they don't even try. It being hard to PUG in Albion is not (to me) a justification to not even try. Just keep dodging the high-pressure areas. Even Flump dodges on a daily basis, and he is RR11. Siege - Warrior

Yeah yeah, and like I wrote I think the tone is a general internet problem. I agree, Albs are afraid, I also see this daily. Is also why I shy more and more away from BG's, and rather solo for fewer rps, but have more fun doing so, than dodge fights for the 50th time. But outside BG's, it's near impossible for albs to find/form a group. Example, the other day we got: 1 cleric, 1 friar, 1 caba, 1 minstrel, 1 theurg, 1 paladin (memory is fuzzy, but were 6). That was what we could find. We avoid Emain, because hibs zerged, we avoided Alb, because mids zerged. Went Mid and met your 8 man. Now friar and paladin left. What to do? I'm not going to wait for 1+ hour to form a group. So we agreed to quit, and maybe try again later, which we didn't. Unless you are willing to run with 50% people using voice, slightly gimp setup, or not fill group, doing 8 man in Albion is impossible, unless you are part of the established 8 man crowd. Making a solid PUG is way harder on alb, that's a fact, pretty much nothing to debate here.
Why is it harder ? Now we can talk. |

Going back to Live this patch all those years ago. It's Dark Age of CAMELOT.
Albion always had a zerg realm because King Arthur and all that jazz. Some albs, like me, just cba with the rvr aspect t times and just want to have fun. Whether it be dragon raids, or just general pve. I'm sure if it was dark age of valhalla, you'd probably get a huge zerg of casuals on mid, but then, you wouldn't have a server Wakefield 50 Rej Cleric
