Idk why you think you would've killed Astronauts in open field. Most of them are high rank and have been playing for a long time. You would've absolutely been free rps.

My goal, when i lead, is to provide as entertaining an evening of rvr possible. So im looking for suggestions. I dont like ramming down empty keeps no more than suiciding on a hib bomb bg. Just looking for other options

Yeah, my point is that this was at least partly a case of unfortunate timing. We would have been happy to keep roaming, but several of us were already on our way out.

That said, as much as I appreciate making do with what you got, I think having a stronger composition would have helped you guys out a lot. Of course, generating initial interest is hard enough and I know you guys have it rough for group reqs, but setting yourself up for more competitive fights can't hurt.

Lol, they and every other group, groups, zerg, 8 man are beatable.

Albs fair better in Open field. It allows thurgs 2k range to really shine. And we had 3 thurgs.

There are more problems I can count in Alb, but I think the biggest problem all is revolving around their PvE. Not just because of Necros but all around. Not enough solid xp groups that test the limits; too many Necro PLs. Also, WAY too specific set ups for PvE raids for dragons and legion etc. This creates a Ginormous influx of theurgs and stuff just because ppl want to be included in some raids. Also, people need to stop playing stuff just because it's cool, don't underestimate the value of some of the more *plain* classes like a Merc or Armsman, high dps, good armor, and det. Need more proper dps classes and they need to be included in PvE related stuff so they can template and be RvR viable sooner.

If you look in hib or mid they run big xp bgs to help their lowbies and alts get to 50 and temped so you can adjust group make-ups and etc.
All albs not specifically you need to stop being so self-minded and start helping each other out so you can become more of a team related mindsight. I once was an Alb myself, but all that stuff combined chased me away. Do something for others.

Props to you Ownnyn, you are dealing with all that crap just to help the realm and we should all appreciate you the Albs even more. It really takes some damn patience to lead there because they dont like to listen and only criticize. However, for all you Albs now is the time to change everything, to work as a unit and to have a better group mindset, help each other template get 50 and learn the ropes of running your groups/zergs.

The endgame is worth it. The other realms do it to a certain degree. :)

That moment when you are a n00b and you put your faith in 3 theurgs. One animist can easily overcome your theurgs pets. If you think that 3 thuergs in a grp/zerg is what it takes to kill a good grp think again. If it was that way every rvr grp would run 3 theurgs in grp

Lol, paper daoc is not your forte.

You say 1 animist is better than 3 thergs in open field.

Ill just have to disagree and leave it at that.

Lol animist vs theurgist do you mean in active run up fight or let me cast my pets first fight. Caster fights are hard to call just depends on who has more tricks.

Seeing how animist have decent nukes as well as roots they fair well

Seeing how the theurgist has pets nukes speed and haste in case they just wanted to staff you they get more utility.
It
I think the hair theurgist with mez and off spec ice for cast pets is way way strong.

Of course everything depends on who is playing it.

Herding cats in any realm can be difficult. Tried my hand at a few times and is can be rewarding and frustrating at same time. But i find it odd that none of the realms seem to not bring any trebs, catapults or even palatones along on a keep raid, especially when the enemy are known to be turtled up inside.

All those interrupts and damage can be a real pain. So i suppose it is because people do not the siege craft skill, need only 1 in any of the crafts that get siege craft. Or no one who can carry them or know how to use them. but most likely too cheap to buy them.

Hope can keep it up is nice to see albs coming back out.

Yeah, your terrible class setup groups filled with uncoordinated people would have totally stomped them on open field. A random pug zerg of 20 isn't much to be feared for a decent 2 groups.

Perhaps they were just waiting in the keep because they expect more albs to come out. Sometimes it's nice to be in a keep instead of run into a zerg that has doubled in size. Or it's nice to be lazy and wait for the rps to come. If you were to attack, it's fun and advantageous to defend. Or they just wait for you to attack a different keep and go fight again.

Agreed, an animist isn't really a theurg killer. I guess theyd be okish to retreat into shrooms when you have pets on you. Aoe bombers are decent at clearing, but so are other casters. Also sever the tether if things really get out of hand. And a lot of low rr theurgs don't know to release their pets.

Ani's in open field doesn't fair super well because of sorcs. Mid melees on the other hand....
